The theme @Kitty 's this week is , suggested by @satsuma

I starting rummaging through my CDs and LPs, looking for something cool and unusual and precious.

But then I realised that I had a much more recent precious thing.

This is the tape release of the dungeon synth soundtrack to the indie RPG Moonring - it's also one of my favourite DS releases of last year.

And I honestly love the fact that I can get tape, CD, or even LP releases of fairly obscure modern things (I have cassette decks and a turntable), produced on a small scale by people who care about putting them in the hands of enthusiasts.

yuzu kitsune tails, a purple haired fox girl, picks up samurai armor in a tower that's rapidly filling with lava. she jumps away from the rising lava and sticks her spear in the wall, doing a dashing twirl to get on top of it. she walks off the spear and into a new scene, fighting a ghost fox with armor and spear. it stabs and she jumps over, but is caught by a follow up stab. the ghost fox over extends and its ghostly powers wane, giving yuzu a chance to bop on its head

@eniko promo really does feel heavily stacked towards people who are willing and able to go out and schmooze and give talks and whatnot.

Which, yeah, I appreciate that it's a skillset, and it's one I laboriously acquired, but not everyone can swan off to $randomCountry and spend three days straight wearing a mask (or not 😬) in a room full of people, with inevitably limited accessibility, being on and outgoing and interactive.

There's a lot to be said for a theatrical background. I have one of the compilations of his scripts, and there's a great deal of consistency of vision between his theatrical, literary and cinematic approaches, IMO.

Like, it's not perfect - it kind of feels like his precision and power on less dramatically range-using verse sections is maybe a bit weaker than it was checks watch 25-odd years ago, but hell, I'd heart more variation from singers night-to-night on tour.

I don't do Hellfest and Paris is sold out, so I'm not getting to see The Mandrake Project, making this the first time I've missed one of his solo tours in a country I live in.
