I'm currently thinking of setting up my own mail server as Gmail is one of the last pieces of Google I use.

I know it's a complicated process but I also know my brain will drive me down this path as soon as I have a spare few days to wrap my head around it all.

@nanode @selzero @schmidt I de-Googled many years ago now (I have one dummy Gmail account that I use for here). I can't recommend it highly enough. There were a few other people going through the process a little while ago who might have some tips for those who are more deeply embedded than I was- @anniemo71 is one.

@maleandroids @selzero @schmidt yeah... until it gets into the wrong hands and from it's proprietary nature, it gets enshittified irreversibly. I like the guys made Vivaldi but after we've pretty much raised the alarms and it still looks like they don't understand the importance of a free and open source license in software development nowadays, I am not sure of the future of it.
