everyone is all stoked about the pacing of monster appearance but is not prepared for how that means the last half of the movie could be an absolute slog of trying to sort out whether they are any worse than the monster for their treatment of the suspected murderer guy #monsterdon

@blue they are both traditionally misogynized characters but they also seem to be doctors and the men are taking their input seriously? i don't know what their status is in the patriarchy time machine #monsterdon
@Gurre i think beyond the language used the test is more about the women having agency and being active drivers of the story rather than merely reacting to the actions of the men around them, so being doctors talking about a man who has died is like 'are they as doctors able to exert the same kind of agency as the man who went and got himself dead' which is a weird edge case #monsterdon
this plan to capture the monster narration could have done with some oceans 11 style bongo orchestral music and some zooms and pans over blueprints of the ship #monsterdon
we are finally getting some character exposition on one of the women but it is just to explain how she was single for science and cuts when the dude is propositioning her. F- #monsterdon
i just want to note with 5 minutes left that this movie has absolutely zero metaphor, subtext, or anything going on aside from "kill the monster." they have done literally nothing with the "this guy is on trial for killing his crewmates" plot they started with. #monsterdon
the bazooka seems to have just been a sort of nerf-powered pirate ship cannon that was so inconsequential they didn't even give it dialogue #monsterdon
wait a second they solved the monster while i was typing. i love how opening the side of the spaceship so yno it's continuous with space just makes it windy for a little bit but then everything is fine and you can just walk around and all your boxes are still scattered around loose everywhere. #monsterdon
