This is your reminder not to censor yourself because you're afraid you'll lose followers.
Only the people who stay are worth knowing who you are. Be you. Be as much as yourself as you want to put out there, but be yourself.
We need more sincere people who aren't trying to put on a show to get followers. People just being themselves. Sometimes goofy, sometimes angry, sometimes brilliant, but always true selves.
To me, that's what makes a great social media platform. People being who they are.

This is why I'm here and not somewhere else. The other "social media" sites are not social, just people fighting. Mastodon has people posting everyday stuff and that's way more entertaining than some influencer trying to sell me something or a Kardashian.
Still not sure what they are... but I'm not keeping up with them.
@Mrfunkedude@jadevol That’s how many if not most folks on G+ were and why so many of us “refugees” were able to regroup and find each other again via alternative social media. It’s why I’ve had absolutely fantastic experiences meeting folks around the world. Maybe have actually met IRL almost 100 folks. Of course being a photographer who enjoyed photo walks made a difference. 😄
People are polite because that is also self rewarding, but they file down their edges otherwise because there is a lot of soapboxing about sensitivities. And because interaction can be slim at times.
You might just cut loose and shitpost on BlueSky because you do NOT expect repercussions.
The Home Owners Association aspects of Mastodon are real.
@Mrfunkedude I have been dismayed watching YouTube and seeing how words like "unalive", "arr-ed", and "droogs" (not in the Nadsat sense) are commonplace.
@Mrfunkedude I still self censor from imposing my existence on others. I’ve improved in that I actually think of things I might post now, before deciding it is too onerous for others to bear reading it; but still a long cry from communicating openly.
