But in 20 years, you will be able to take a gene therapy that will reset your epignome to what it was at a younger age, and you will be young again. They're already doing it with mouse eyes. The mouses eye ages out; they reset it; and, it ages out again. And, they reset again....
@RickiTarr 36. I was physically & mentally mature, I’d recovered from the hysterectomy that “cured” my endometriosis, & my fibromyalgia hadn’t yet kicked in.
@RickiTarr 40. I finally knew enough to know I knew nothing. But I still felt bulletproof. Once I lost that feeling (9 years later), I realized how much work it would take to get it back... now there is not enough time left.
@RickiTarr 54. I had just retired from a 35+ year job that I hated every second of and I was healthy enough that I could golf, bike, fish, hike, play music and have a sexual relationship. The only thing left is playing music and that I fear will be gone soon as well. The first 10 years of retirement were the best of my life.
@RickiTarr 30, could still get up and down the b-ball court a couple times a week, sleep was an option for half the week. Going out in the cold wasn't a hard nope yet.
@RickiTarr 37. I was in the best physical shape of my life after adopting healthy eating and working out 5 times a week after kid 2 was born. Sadly, I stopped doing that after I had the 3rd kid. 2 kids, gym time was managed just fine. 3 kids gym time was impossible.
@RickiTarr
I'm nearly 58 and healthier than I've ever been since discovering the wonders of alcohol and cigarettes in my teens.
Stopping them was huge and I'd have liked to know how I'd have felt while still indestructible in my early twenties without testing the limits of my abilities to imbibe industrial quantities of both though.
@RickiTarr 67, I'm a couple decades off from that age, but I figure that if I'm going to live forever, I might as well do it as a crotchety old bastard.
@RolloTreadway@RickiTarr
I hadn’t thought about how often people thought I was a teenager when I was in my 20’s. I’d still pick sometime in there because strongest, good eyesight, excellent balance, cast iron stomach, fast metabolism. Being carded would be worth it for the rest of the upgrades.
@RickiTarr
Probably about 37
Because older people had stopped hitting on me all the time and/or dismissing me for looking “like a little girl” and because no part of my body regularly ached yet
🤷♀️
@RickiTarr The summer after I graduated high school, I attended community college to get some required classes out of the way and decided to do my physical ed requirements all at the same time. So, at 7am I had golf, at 9am I had tennis, then at 11 I had swimming. I have never been as fit before or since and I felt great, that's the "body age" at which I would pause. Mentally, I like where I'm at right now. Age and treachery will overcome youth and enthusiasm every time... heh heh heh...
