@tarheel I’m just guessing here, but I suspect that person is new to cycling in an urban area. Everyone who’s had a bike stolen in a city knows you run the lock cable through the frame too.

@Wen The brake discs are no different sides of the wheels. I’m inclined to think of this as staged. Also, I don't think the wheels would stay upright in this theft.

@mrtnsnp @corin_ja We are in Scotland. Taking my trike on the train can be hit and miss (frequently only two cycles are allowed on the small 3 carriage trains), and well, the hills and mountains are irresistible.
