@BugFajita@carnage4life It's the same kind of heartwarming "failing upward" story as David Zaslav getting paid $50M to help Warner post a $3B loss for 2023.
I might file this one away for the next time I'm in a conversation with someone who thinks minimum wage is too high and also thinks there should be no ceiling on C-suite pay.
@carnage4life@weyoun6 Guess every CEO has to FAFO? Harvard business school has done pretty conclusive studies that show that layoffs almost always hurt the company long-term, but hey lets go with feelings instead of data!
@carnage4life When I read the article, it kinda sounds like they're using the layoffs as an excuse to explain why they didn't get enough done to shareholders. He also says it was still the right thing to do.
Scum CEO's are using layoffs as shields in dozens of ways now.
@carnage4life I truly believe that the fact Twitter didn't actually crash and die technically in the first six months after the Musk layoffs was the big modern pivot point in the industry. All the other CEOs waited to see if laying off all the highly paid smart people and especially the troublemakers would actually crater ops and when that didn't happen they said Fuck Yeah Elon Is Right and went for it. Now obviously we're all in the Find Out stage together (it sucks)
