So much of Musk's "visionary leadership" is classic mismanagement. He's not just nuking the one area in which he Tesla can lock-in market dominance (the EV chargers), he's doing it in the most chaotic manner possible, without any plan for going forward. https://electrek.co/2024/05/03/read-the-wild-email-tesla-is-sending-to-suppliers-amid-supercharger-chaos/

I was a business consultant to some of the most politically-operated organizations in the country —Coca-Cola, The Home Depot, General Electric, AT&T, and others— and I've never seen anything like the way musk does /his own/ business. And if Tesla is this fucked up then consider how also-fucked up (and dangerous) SpaceX and StarLink probably are too. We have thousands of his products, weighing many tons, circling us overhead. Is anyone else worried about that? 😳

I'm glad I haven't known many like him. But I have worked for a few companies led by them.

I couldn't care less if he, himself, unravels. And I don't care much about Tesla since other automakers will step into its place if necessary. And, naturally, I really don't care about xitter. But I'll be kinda sad if SpaceX fails because of his idiocy but only because space rockets are so cool.

@maxkennerly I think we have yet to see the fallout of this. He fired an entire team without any consideration of how to replace them. All business contacts are gone. Who even knows who has a contract. Those are frequently on a need-to-know basis. A lot of this information is licked up in some password protected file, that I’m sure they can eventually get access too, bug they don’t know how it’s organized.

There will be lawsuits from employees and suppliers.

@maxkennerly LOL at the other manufacturers that capitulated to using his charging tech, instead of sticking to the well-established standards already widely used across the nation. This is a textbook example of why we have those standards in the first place.

@maxkennerly What are the odds that Tinucci's stellar results didn't sit well with Musk because she is a woman? So he bit off his nose to spite his face.

It would have made more business sense to spin off the Superchargers into their own company under Tinucci.

My theory is that he asked her to bear his child and she refused.

    geoglyphentropy,

@maxkennerly It's astounding and appalling how he's managed to get exponentially worse at both incompetence and bigotry.

His next big brain incompetence will be renaming Tesla to CarX and claim that's a profound change.

Elmo doesn't care whether any business moves forward or back, so long as it's about him. A lot like Donald Trump.

@maxkennerly And the Tesla staff are just along for the wild ride as were Twitter staff. A rich boy with his toys.
