@pluralistic "Fire Debt Bankruptcy" sounds very much like the Biblical definition of "Jubilee" year: occurring after every seventh Sabbath year, all debts were cleared, slaves allowed to return home, and this resulted in a massive social and economic reset. We're seeing that play out in Russia at the moment as power structures change.

Insider tip: the whole platform/monopoly/network effect saga is playing out again, in the EV world. Tesla is doing everything they can to build up and lock in their platform, which happens to primarily (but not exclusively) be on wheels. But rest assured it is a platform. Apple knows this; legacy auto, not so much. Early days.
@pluralistic Since when does Medium hide parts of articles if you don't have an account? Didn't it use to be either you get the article or no? Getting a few paragraphs in and then being cut off feels manipulative and frustrating.

@lori I really liked it when it got started. Even paid for a little while and published a little too. There was some good writing on there, much less outrage driven. But it took a weird turn pretty quick. It had potential. Ah well.
