I used to get all my news from twitter trending. Since he got the company the trending part has been destroyed completely. My friends have said the same thing before i mentioned it so I am not alone with this.
Yeah, I have completely stopped using Twitter but it did have good aspects like this. Mastodon is getting breaking news pretty consistently now if you have a few good follows in case you want to try it out there.
When I first started using Mastodon, I still had to go to Twitter if news was breaking. Now, there’s nothing. I can’t get news just from my feed like I used to. I stopped popping over to twitter when it stopped doing the one thing I still used it for, a few months ago.
Mastodon has gotten better with news, especially with the recent migrations, and I’m getting a lot from kbin now.
