The #Miyoo Mini Plus is on sale on AliExpress alongside a bunch of other retro handhelds from #Anbernic and the like. So it might be a good time to grab one :P
Ordered the #Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. Then got impatient realizing it would take like a month to get here. So I may have accidentally also ordered the #Anbernic RG35XX+. :game_boy:
Irresponsible? Yes. But I do think they have distinct purposes. The gameboy-ish size of the rg35xx is super pocket friendly. Should be great for playing #Pokemon at the gym between sets.
But it seems the RP4p can handle #GameCube and #PS2 emulation with almost no issues.
My amazing girlfriend got me a #retro hand held for Christmas. So far been having a blast just getting it customized and applying some hardware mods (better back buttons, fix for a known D-Pad isssue, custom O.S. Etc)
I've recently been enjoying the Amiga version of Lemmings on my retro handheld. It's surprising how many solutions to the levels I still remember after so many years!
Playing without a mouse is a bit tricky, but I've set the analog stick to move the mouse quickly, and then the d-pad moves it in smaller increments for fine adjustments. I also mapped some buttons to the keyboard controls for quickly switching between skills.
As someone that grew up with the MS-DOS version, it's interesting to hear how the music was supposed to sound!
I missed out on #LiveALive back in the #SNES days since it didn't make it to the USA. I started playing it on my #anbernic the other day and I was surprised to find it very #chronotrigger like!
I just learned they made a #remastered version last year! It seems pretty different, but since I didn't play it much on #superNintendo it doesn't matter to me. I like the voice acting, the additional animations, and lighting effects!
thinkin' about picking up one of those little #emulator handhelds for my birthday. anyone have strong opinions on the #miyoo mini vs. one of the #anbernic consoles? looking to spend around $100.
Who else is rocking an #Anbernic#RG35XX handheld console? I've got GarlicOS on mine and I love having access to so many different platforms on tap. And then I thought I can stream it more...
"GarlicPress is a companion application for the RG35xx running GarlicOS. The main aim of the application is to never require you to remove the SD cards from your device. GarlicPress uses ADB to communicate over USB."
Just did a search on whether anyone’s gotten Apple II disk images to run on an #Anbernic#RG35XX and found only my own lonely Reddit thread. Anyone? Anyone?
Been sitting here since the 7th obsessively refreshing the tracking for my #Anbernic#RG35XX. It landed in Illinois on the 7th. Then nothing since then, just says “delivered to our shipping partner, USPS awaiting receipt of item”
Then out of nowhere… bam, late today it arrived at a USPS facility in Minneapolis!
Been putting off buying the SD cards and HDMI cable until it moved out of Illinois, but I didn’t think it would jump to Minnesota without passing through Chicago first.
I saw once a GBA that had a cartridge with an USB-C port to put games inside without even having to disconnect it from the console.
Anyone knows if there's somewhere they sell that? #retrogaming#gba
