I enjoyed Avatar: The Last Airbender as a cartoon, cringed at it as a live action movie, and am now happyscared to notice: the new live action series just dropped today.
Watching the first episode, not too far in yet, but … it’s looking pretty good!
Just watched the first episode of the new #AvatarTheLastAirbender and... It's pretty mid. Both the dialogue and the acting are meh. Lots of room for improvement.
Most of the child acting struggles. Sokka ave Zuko are pretty good. Katara is eh, and Aang is obviously trying really hard.
I'll probably watch the whole season just got the novelty, but I probably won't be recommending it or rewatching it unless it really improves.

Speaking of Netflix live action adaptations of cartoons that look way too dramatic compared to the soruce material... #YuYuHakusho! Holy shit please tell me that blonde dude isn't supposed to be kuwabara... what the fuck... this looks so generic. This actually looks just like the #ATLA trailer. Man.
im not a #atla fan but the new trailer seems way too cinematic and dramatic. the show was light hearted most of the time and it doesnt seem to capture those moments at all, and with the visuals and tone that are showcased in the trailer, i cant imagine they will.
So just like #ATLA , we quickly get introduced to the main character's personality with a few choice sentences.
In just 4 sentences, we know that Korra is headstrong, loves being the avatar, and is always trying to get ahead of where her mentors think she should be.
not show is a segment where Katara says she's strong and some old guy says "she lacks restraint'. Gee, i wonder if that'll be a big issue.
Also, can i say i love that Korra has flaws? she's an actual person

I did Toph for green! Unfortunately, I'm not entirely happy with how this one turned out. I did not know what I was doing with this pose 😅
I didn't want to just copy an existing illustration, so I looked up some Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis poses since I knew that's what her fighting style is based on. However, my reference photo was at a different angle.
Anyway, I'll just leave it as is because I don't wanna work on it anymkre. I'll just cover her right hand with my next character 😅
