During tonight's bedtime shenanigans (lady Brown goes in, Betty goes in, Lady Grey goes in, then Grey goes out, Betty goes out to get Grey in, repeat,...) we caught Lady Grey perched on top of the coop (120cm). We're so happy we went for a closed run 😂 we have jumping chickens.

The chicken in my profile picture is named Crybaby Delilah, because 1) he cried a lot as a baby, and 2) due to a sexing error, we thought he was female until he grew up to look like this. #chickens#chickensofmastodon
Thanks to the British Hen Welfare Trust we have 6 rescue hens. We went to collect them today.
They were brought up from a farm in the Scottish Borders yesterday to Inverness. They were in the back of the car for nearly 3 hours on the way home. Now they are exploring and scratching their way around the pen. We will give them a good life. This photograph was taken on their first time outside in their lives.

My whole flock in one pic! Very unusual. I took this for my Mum, but then had to label their names because she couldn't find Autumn (masquerading as a clivia).
Cocky young blonds. The guy in the front is defs the new keeper rooster, even though he has a very slight tail tilt. The rest is breed standard and his attitude and colors are fantastic. Yay.
