My 10 yo did a bit of cosplay at and he was nervous about how his C3PO costume was going to be received. He said he thought it was too "janky" for the photoshoot we were headed to.

As we rounded the corner by the Courtland (nee Sheraton) one guy commented on how cool the costume looked. That helped buoy the kid.

When we arrived, the 501st were fist-bumping him, ribbons were offered.

So I just posted to say thanks.

This was definitely the year of #Barbie at #DragonCon. The group #cosplay photo shoot last Friday was unbelievable. They ran out of space on the steps, moved and then ran out of space again! Some highlights include nearly every Barbie and #Ken seen in the movie including many glorious #WeirdBarbie costumes. @ramsey I attended it & thought it was interesting. It felt like an overview & discussion of benefits & pitfalls with the opportunity for the audience to ask questions and voice opinions. I appreciated it for what it was and hope to see more in the future at . The hosts were joking about why we had decided to attended when the party was “out there" 😃

Obscure characters I spotted at over the weekend included a survivors support group, some soon-to-be-unemployed staff of the and a pair of Kalikori Cola carhops! (Very appropriate for an convention)

A Saja lightsaber instructor with a Chandrilla Star Line logo on his right sleeve is standing next to Captain Riyola Keevan of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Halcyon. Also with them is a woman in the prison garb seen on Andor season 1.
Two women dressed as 1950s style car hops are holding trays with hamburgers and colas in glass bottles. Their uniforms are marked with the distinctive red and white logo of Kalikori Cola (a wink to Coca Cola). They each have “Barbie” as their name tags in a different but equally distinctive font. One woman’s skin is purple and the other’s is teal and they have lekku (“head tails”) protruding from their caps, as they are both Twi’leks from Star Wars.
