I thought that the tulips I'd purchased/planted last yr were all pastel but my memory of what happened 5 minutes ago is sketchy 🤷♂️.
There were 3 pastel pink, one white, 1 red, & this vivid yellow👇. Took this angle because it kinda made the tulip look like a choir member with a slicked down hairdo in a fancy choir costume.

My ground phlox (possibly Phlox subulata/moss phlox) has achieved blanket status.
I'm a sucker for mass blooms. A friend of mine has large swaths of this phlox & was kind enough to borrow me a cup 2 yrs ago. A cup that was 1.5' x 2' chunk that I then plopped down in a 1.5' x 2' space.
Here's a few more shots of the liverwort (Hepatica americana or Anemone hepatica seems likely) I posted last Saturday. I went back to check on Monday and they were opened so I got a few shots of that one as well as another. Responses with the opened flowers to follow soon.

Here is same liverwort (open this time) from previous post today. As you can see, they look just as lovely opened as they do closed. Found another plant nearby that I'll post in response to this post.

The first wildflower I've come across on #ClearCreekTrail. It's the same species an the one I found first about this time last year, liverwort (Hepatica americana or Anemone hepatica seems likely). I don't know if it has opened yet or not but I'm gonna head back today to take a look.

One of my white tulips is about to bloom and it looks like it may have been visited by a jumping spider🕷️ (I'm not an arachnologist so I could be mistaken).

My first tulip opened up yesterday. Yeah😃! It was closed this morning due to the colder temps. This is the first time I've planted tulips and last fall decided to go with a simple palette of pink, pastel yellow, and white.

Starting feeling better yesterday but still quite tired so I'm staying on hiatus for a bit longer to get more rest.
But I was excited to find my 1st daffodil opened yesterday (Yeah!😃) & was compelled to post photos. May not get back to your replies but I'll catch up with you soon👍

This lovely dwarf iris in my friend's garden actually belonged to me at one time. When I moved in 2008 I no longer had access to a garden. Before I moved out I invited friend's over to collect plants that they may want for their garden. I'm always astonished how long-lived plants are and its wonderful to see this little guy still going 16 years later.

There, I said it. It's all in the open now. No going back.
Sooo (🙄) when my friend's crocuses start a'poppin', I'm there with camera in hand to document. Thus creating a large number of crocus flower photos that I will now share in this thread.

Still taking part-time off from SM but I'd be remiss if I didn't post my very 1st flower of the year. I planted these yellow crocuses last fall having already planted some of the purple variety last spring. The daffodils are coming along & some tulip leaves have just popped up. Gotta start getting the garden ready & have some projects to start. Lotsa fun for me 👍.

The first crocuses have just popped in my friend's garden. Mine are not too far behind. Here's a little thread of the early ones from his yard.

My friend has a large number of crocuses throughout his garden. In some locations they nearly blanket the ground. He also has a large variety and spends time cross pollinating them with a paint brush to try to achieve even more variety.

I noticed the crocuses had started blooming in my friend's garden so I decided to head over there on Saturday morning to take some pics. I forgot crocuses stay closed in the cold early morning till the sun warms things up. Within a few hours they opened but they're also quite pretty when they're closed.

My primula is setting tons of blooms since I've been dead-heading. New plants are a struggle until I find the best watering schedule. I use really well draining soil because I tend to overwater. The primula has dried out too much a couple of times due to that. It one of THOSE plants with the paradoxical best-practices guideline "Primula's like wet soil but not TOO wet."🤷♂️

I've been checking my corms and tubers on the reg all fall/winter. I failed to do that last year and lost some lovely dahlias to rot. Things look good this year so I should be all set to get those puppies set up and blooming this year.
