Tobermory, the beautiful island capital of the Isle of Mull. It is probably still known to some visitors as TV's Balamory; and its harbour is said to be home to the sunken wreck of a Spanish Armada ship and its cargo of gold. Mighty Duart Castle, dominating the sea lanes around the eastern side of the Isle of Mull. Probably fortified from much earlier, a stone castle was first built here in the mid 1200s and it became the base of Clan Maclean in 1367. Tobermory Distillery in the heart of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. This superb little craft distillery was established in 1798 as Ledaig Distillery and has closed and restarted production a number of times during its history. The ferry slipway and the village of Baile Mor on the enchanting, magical, island of Iona, just off the south-west tip of the Isle of Mull.
