Well it's been a year since I joined this here website, so a reintroduction is in order.
I make electronic music that blends the familiar and the experimental. Been doing this for a little over ten years. For better or worse I can't seem to stick to one "sound". I throw genres in a blender and see what happens.
I also post about tech stuff, being a Linux user. In January I finally moved my music production over to Linux. Still getting used to Bitwig; loving it so far.
As a recovering perfectionist, I strive to get better at finishing what I start. At the end of last year I finally put out my first full album. The first of many.
I want to give a big thank-you to @cambraca@debonairetoast and @ThunderComplex for keeping this instance running smoothly. I've met a lot of cool people and overall had a great time here. Thank you.
From 60s R&B funk to sludge metal in the mid-2010s, a couple of 45s from classic New Orleans bands, The Meters and Eyehategod. Picked up at local NOLA recod shop, Sisters In Christ, along with a fun tote.
This is my thread about the #fedivision2024 songs that caught my attention. I'm giving my honest opinion for the reviews. Even though I can be a bit critical about music I really enjoyed all those songs!
Good job everyone for submitting your music to the contest 👏.
In "Youtube is not working for electronic musicians," @lislegaard shares why he wants to see more experimental musicians talking about their artistic process.
I'm at an odd place with my personal website. Before Dec. 2023, it was a "professional portfolio" for my compositions. Now that I'm interested in the IndieWeb community, I want to make something more personal. I don't think I want to make two sites, but I do still need a portfolio for my composition work.
I just read @maggie's post on "digital gardens" and I really like that idea. (1/n)
I definitely want to add more pages, and once I add dropdowns within the menus, that'll be easier to organize. My main thing is that I don't know how to strike a balance of "personal" and "portfolio" in the content I put on my site.
Does anyone else have experience/thoughts on this? (2/2)
