Fuck, here we go again. The people who can't wait until the 4th are setting off fireworks already. Lots of them. Big and loud ones. Yes, I was a typical male-child in America, and until I was 13, I thought fireworks and orgasm were synonymous. But despite my better judgment, I grew up. It happens.
I just watched a two hour video on a Doom 2 mod and it gave me a LOT of appreciation for it, moreso than if I played it myself. The context in the world of Doom modding and other references really make this an excellent watch.
Without spoilerinos, it's a fantastically made and very unique little DOOM wad, highly recommend!

After watching two videos about a very well made Doom 2 custom map with a mysterious origin, I decided to order the House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.
Maybe the Doom mod was actually made by the author as a new addition to the universe? 🤔
If you haven't seen or heard about it yet, there's a new #Doom2 map (yes the old #DoomII) called #MyHouse.WAD (#MyHouseWAD for searching?) that was released earlier this year that seems to be pretty amazing. Apparently you can play it with a custom engine, so it's all free.
Apparently the wad is influenced by #HouseOfLeaves, which I now need to read.
My House is a very strange Doom Mod that verges on an absolute wonder work of art. I really can't recommend checking it out enough. Here is a video documenting the mod.
