Qent to this weekend and did the Sgt. Derby . It was fun but more of a "been there, done that" sort of thing.

I got regenerative braking working on the new motor! With regen active on a long downhill, controlling our downhill descent was very easy, and we reclaimed 150-370W/h along the way.

@graham_freeman bike regen is a thing? I had no idea. Vendor/other pointers?

is beautiful, but it's "Allergy Central" for me. Seriously looking at for a future home base; I spent most of my childhood there (on the Westside), which tended to be less inflammatory for my quirky physiology.

Congratulations to for winning a Pulitzer Prize! I get most of my news about local government and civic issues from them. And it’s free.

Great story in this week’s #GoodTimes #SantaCruz, “I want my mp3”, about a couple of computer science students and music lovers at #UCSantaCruz in 1993 who used digitization and data compression, both in their infancy, to create the IUMA (Internet Underground Music Archive). This was way before Napster or anything else. Today, if you search for IUMA on archive.org you will get 45,000 hits. #music #internet

Wieder ein interessantes Video von zum Markt und den Margen bei den ach so hohen Preisen. Finde es ja krass, dass Benny da so offen über die Preise und vorallem Kosten seitens und spricht.

paul,
@paul@montereybay.social avatar

@turgon That was my take on M as well. I really liked Wallace Baine’s recent opinion piece in Lookout, which asks the bigger question, “What discomforts are you willing to put up with for the greater social good?” https://lookout.co/with-housing-at-the-heart-of-santa-cruzs-election-wrangling-a-question-how-do-we-make-room-for-others/ The character of a town isn’t defined by the height of its buildings — it is in how we treat each other and take care of each other.
