Apple Music has two playlists, Skateboarding and Snowboarding, that sound like direct spiritual successors to the video game soundtracks of the early 2000's. If you tasked an editor with making a soundtrack for a modern #TonyHawk or #ShaunWhite game, I'm not sure they could do better.
I’m a sucker for nostalgia but very things get me the way footage of old #VideoGames from my youth does. I spent so much time playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 on the #PS2. These videos are just pure, unfiltered nostalgia. It would be nice if YouTube didn’t require that they lose the music but it’s still pretty good. https://youtu.be/pYRcEcFV788?si=Pu_DKLkFHFQuRqyS
"From his first video appearance in Stacy Peralta’s 1981 ‘Skateboarding in The 80s’ to his last part, he stands as a shining example of dedication, determination, and the unrelenting drive that skateboarding demands in a 40+ year career."
"I’ll still be here skating as much as possible; but no longer torturing myself mentally & physically for the sake of comprehensive video missions.”
Any #TomBraider fans out there? Aside from a demo on PC I don't think I've ever really played it. Been checking out the original on PS1. So far I have learnt:
Larac Roft does not run fast
Bats will mess you up
You can execute the perfect jump, but it means nothing if you don't holster those pistols
@GabeMoralesVR Wait?? You mean he's not going to turn up as the end game boss? 😕 Next you'll be telling me that the #ToNYHawk series isn't about a falconer who has to guide his bird to New York City.
Allow me to introduce you to Australia’s Arisa Trew. She’s the first girl in the world to pull off a 720 in a female competition. And, oh, yeah—she’s 13.
This clip is from a run that earned her 1st place in Tony Hawk’s “Vert Alert.”
You Can Now Play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Offline, But There's A Catch (kotaku.com)
Only on Steam Deck. So that means it's trivial to allow everyone to play the game without an internet connection, but they just chose not to.
