Another bit of fractal #accidentalArt while filtering chemicals for disposal/recovery. In this case, copper nitrate. Very reminiscent of Escher's hyperbolic images.
In #astrophotography we tend to share only our best shots, which can be demotivating for newcomers. So here's one of my early #photo fails, from back when I was a teen.
I went out to shoot a meteor shower with my #film camera. When the pics came back from the lab a few days later, I was gutted to see they were all red! The light from an LED had leaked onto the film. But I learned from that mistake and taped that LED.
@astro_jcm Not that I'm any better at astrophotography or I have better equipment, but at least I now know not to trust a weak tripod on a windy balcony for long exposures of Jupiter 😉
Left some used chemicals filtering for disposal* over the long weekend. Normally it's a dense brown sludge, but a few extra days left this lovely #fractal pattern. Very reminiscent of #Escher 's #hyperbolic images.
converting iron chloride solution, which can't go down the sink, into iron carbonate (not oxide like I said!) which can go in the bin
