Hot off the hook last night! I still have a lot of yarn to use up, and I wanted to make a cardigan to test a pattern I wrote up for it a while ago, so I know how much to buy if I want to make any in the future.
I'm not a big fan of most of the colours in this, so it will likely just be one for wearing round the house in the chillier months, but it's a good proof of concept and helped me work out the weight of the finished piece!
I finished off this balloon sleeve shrug this morning and is for a friend. I based this on the balloon sleeve shrugs I made a couple of last year, and I used the yarn I took from the dress, which I turned into a jumper earlier this year.
The only downside to making clothing for other people is that I can't try it on them as I go like I do when I make things for myself. Fingers crossed it fits when she tries it on!
And now back to my regularly scheduled sweater knitting. Kiddo's rainbow sweater has made it to purple. 🌈💜
Also Tin Can Knits is having a buy one get one free sale so I should probably buy the Classic Cardigan pattern for next time I do this so I don't have to do the mental gymnastics to split the Flax pattern down the front. 😅 What should my second pattern be? It seems I own a lot of the ones I intend to knit already!
Wife's just reminded me of one of her weird characteristics. She has an aversion to buttons on knitwear. She'll almost shudder if I point at a cardigan when we're out. I'm thinking she's overdue some hypnotic regression therapy to find out where, when, and how this bizarre behaviour developed.
