I have stats for the past six years. I've made my money back in just one year, but I've beaten the expected winnings (about 67% of cost) in four out of six years.

Does anyone know the reasons for FSA accounts existing and who decided that unused funds for the year would disappear, leading to either profligate spending or people losing their money. And where does the money go? Correction re Flexible Savings accounts. I do know they exist and the differences between the two. My real purpose is to find out why the funds are lost in the inflexible accounts.
