So earlier this evening, my partner got a notification that a #package had been delivered to our #CanadaPost#community#mailbox -- i.e. in a separate delivery from the usual mail during the day.
I went out to check, and indeed they had left the #key for package compartment "2B" in our box.
With the key snapped off right at the base of the big plastic "gas station bathroom key attached to a cinderblock" fob...

Years ago I found a couple of them close together - presumably chatting about how in times gone by they facilitated the majority of all communication…yet now their days were filled more with companionship and charming reminiscences. So, I used to have an account at #Posteo, but forgot to pay for it for a while, so it got deactivated. Sure, that's fine. But you'd think they'd want me to start paying them again, and offer to restart my subscription by filling in my credit card info after trying to log in?
But no, instead they just give me a standard couldn't log in error message – and also says my user name is unavailable when I try to create a new account. Also: no recover account link or info about that in the help section
@forteller The addresses of terminated #Posteo accounts are blocked for 24 months as an important security measure: This prevents imposters from grabbing your former address and impersonating you.
Because of Posteo's focus on privacy, they probably don't retain enough identifying information about you to be able to open a new account with the same address any earlier.
By contrast, #mailbox.org has an account recovery grace period of 30 days.
