#CowParsnip is the ONLY #Heracleum species that's native to #NorthAmerica. There's many look-a-likes including the very toxic giant hogweed. I don't recommend trying to #forage & harvest them unless you're very experienced with identifying differences because it's dangerous to do so.

Last month, I took 6 borage cuttings to propagate. 4 out of the 6 were successful. This one developed very quickly, after developing roots. First flower buds have emerged 🙂
#YellowRattle is used proactively to create & restore wildflower meadows, where it aids #biodiversity by suppressing dominant grasses & recycling of #soil nutrients. This improves chances of other species of wildflowers becoming established.

The #berries eaten in small quantities - fresh, cooked or dried. Some #BritishColumbia#FirstNations made a purgative tonic out of the bark. Their crushed leaves smell like cucumbers.
Good soil-binding qualities on moist sites. Possible #BioEngineering species (Washington State Department of Ecology, 1993).
It's bulbs are used often in #MiddleEastern cuisine; especially in #Iran where they grow wild in mountain ranges. Its #plant extracts are #medicinal - used to treat fungal & bacterial infections, malaria treatments & anti-dandruff treatment.
#DeathCamas - all parts of plant are #toxic & shouldn't be handled. Only bee that can tolerate its toxins is the specialist mining bee. Toxic to animals, especially sheep. Humans have been poisoned after ingesting bulbs; kids have been poisoned after ingesting flowers & flower buds.
Another plant ID question. I've asked loads of local folk what this is and no one seems to know. It's a cutting I took from an evergreen. The parent bushes are growing to around 15 foot tall. They don't have any flowers
