Here's one of the statements Wing Luke staff walked out over. š
"Explanatory panels highlight a rising tide of #antisemitism and hate crimes in #Seattle. The exhibit says that graffiti sprayed in November on the Herzl-Ner Tamid #Synagogue on Mercer Island that said āstop killingā was antisemitism ādisguised as "antiZionism ... as if the #Jews of Mercer Island could control the actions of the #Israeli government.ā
The #seattle monorail is such a bizarre thing. Basically just a tiny little connector between two parts of the city. But super useful if youāre going between them!
I grew up in the #Seattle area. We may have a La NiƱa year during which it rains, and rains, and rains - for months. Sometimes La NiƱa goes 2 years in the PNW and the California transplants give up and leave us.
@KatM lol I bet!! We've had a really rare wet early spring, but it's already tapering off to no tornado warnings but high drying winds and scorchers. I'm old. I pretty much don't wallow in the outdoors as I used to. But honestly, other than mud slides and drowning plants I'm good with a wet climate.
they say #northcarolina is a purple state, but itās more like a bimodal āflaming redā AND āice blueā state depending on where you are
imo the blue parts feel far more liberal than any part of #seattle. i debate if thatās because the south is just more superficial about everything, or if people in seattle simply donāt talk to literally anyone so we donāt actually know if itās a liberal or conservative area
@kellogh It's pretty well urban vs rural/exurban with suburbs split everywhere. Even Texas is largely bright blue throughout the main urban areas, with the exception of Ft Worth that's purple
Got caught in the rain today, and waited out the shower under a rhododendron. Not a bad way to spend fifteen minutes. Entertained myself watching a crow across the street, looking picturesque in a blooming dogwood.
but I still had to cut off a bit of the southernmost parts of Seattle to keep it square
kinda thinking of making an extra version that has the full Seattle map on the left and a bunch of open space centre and right, and labelling it "Here there be dragons, and also, Renton"
i suspect strongly this is another case of Only Funny to Moira but it is funny to me
does anybody in seattle wanna trade for my librem 5 linux phone + 3D printed phone case + nexdock + laptop carrying case? i'd reckon that's at least a $1,500 value
in return i'm asking for the following in good condition: a 1TB OLED steamdeck and recent-ish (like within the past five years) modern laptop with good specs (at least 1 TB memory, 32 gigs RAM, and ten hours of battery life) that i can put linux on
i'm down in federal way rn if you'd wanna meet up here, or i'll be in the city this saturday for pride and can bring it then
