I'm taking Shylo for a check-up on Monday. Fasting for 4 to 6 hours? I better eat a big breakfast by 8AM, then. I'm going to get pretty hungry by the afternoon. Shylo watching from her warm Sunday sunbeam as a neighbor dog gets escorted to its outdoor litterbox...
Une p'tite journée de douze heures aujourd'hui.

Who has multiple cats in a home with a pet with a special diet?
Parker is currently, and likely lifelong, on a prescription diet. It's sorta expensive.
I might be adopting TWO cats. Is there any way around just feeding them all, and ONLY, the prescription food forever?
If I give them treats and hold him back parker will go completely insane. He is already searching for the old food and scratches doors where he thinks it is.
@SirTapTap
we're giving one of ours some moist (canned) food to gain back some weight, and one of the others doesn't care at all, never comes raiding. the other of course barges in and steals. all that said, you might find that eventually your kittens (if you find yourself with some) might ignore the prescription food and go for what they are used to. or... kittens being ravenous little beasts, they may eat everything including clawing into the bag you thought was safely elevated out of their reach.
@lerudd hm true, the prescription food is boring, so they might ignore it. More concerned with parker being homgry and wanting there
I ordered an auto feeder for Parker to get him used to it...have a second 2 bowl one for the kittens but haven't ordered in case I don't get it. Apparently this is complicated lol, I put in the application today. Apparently the email I sent was not the application
Today we (#cats Lady Ada Lovelace & Sir Alan Turing, humans me & @hadez) went to the #vet who said they are fine and healthy :yayblob: except for their teefs which have a bit of calculus[0]. We shall have it scraped next time.
She does not like the #medicine on the back of her neck and sulks, as you can clearly see in this picture ;)
Okay… seems dental calculus is also called "tartar". And then there's "Cream of Tartar", which is a powder - not a liquid or paste like the name would imply - used in cooking, known in German as "Weinstein".
We are getting to where Minnie needs to get spayed, the Humane Society says its going to cost $300 because she has a herniated umbilical cord and this is the time to fix that sort of thing so she can only have 1 invasive surgery.

Parker's special food comes today, I'm not sure it'll help but I hope it does.
Anyone have experience feeding a cat ONLY canned wet food? I've always had dry food for him but he has to only eat this and hopefully it'll solve his GI problems.
he doesn't 'binge' so I've been giving him about a third of a can in the morning then at night bc it's hard to tell how much he'll eat.
