Obligatory yearly toot about #FOSS so I can stay on #Fosstodon ๐ŸŽ‰

I saw the other day that German state Schleswig-Holstein is going to switch to fully #FOSS. Which is great and hope it works out for them.

Having set up a fully (F)OSS (desktops, apps, servers, etc) IT env for a large non-profit, might I suggest proper enterprise support instead of a lone coffee-addicted sysadmin who tries to keep systems together with hopes, prayers and duct tape? ๐Ÿฅฒ

The problem of compatibility are on MS side, not @libreoffice: I'm using it, exclusively, on my PCs since it was called StarOffice, eons ago.
Never had issues.
The issues were for people using MS Office that saw my files in (partly) strange ways. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes!
I've helped a friend and used LO to read and recover an old graduation thesis written with MS Write (and partly on an old Word), that was no more readable with newer MS Office versions.

I finished the class. Now, I need to take a deeper look at the metrics charts. I think this will add another professional layer to my experience so I can support teams even more. Good invest! (I hope that soon a team can benefit from it.. still on the hunt for a job)

Even though my wife is Japanese, I've never liked Japanese mangas since they always go on forever and you must start from the beginning if you like them.
Still, since I first read it, I wanted Pepper&Carrot to go on forever, also thanks to your philosophy and choices.
Anyway, I perfectly understand and respect your choice and I'll continue follow you and your nice projects.

Esattamente 2 anni fa, a notte fonda, venivo svegliato da un forte rumore. Subito lanciai un'occhiata alla cana.
Il mio sguardo domandava "Siamo in pericolo?"
La cana sembrรฒ tranquilla e impassibile.
Esplorai la casa, non trovando nulla di strano.
La mattina seguente notai dei frammenti di vetro in salotto e vidi che era esploso il vetro di protezione della lampada alogena (era spenta).
Forse il vetro era crepato e le molle che lo bloccavano l'hanno sbriciolato all'improvviso.

We have just released 1.12.4 for Windows, which fixes a vulnerability in the installer highlighted in a recent advisory from FireGiant.

The app and data encryption remain secure. The issue was isolated to the installer.

But with a thing like (https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/) I can unzip di KMZ, import it there and see/embed the map into my page, for a better view.
I would love to do both but umap does not import/keep POIs pins colours and I'd prefer to keep one single layer/file in OrganicMaps but this translates into one layer in umap, while there I'd prefer to keep one layer per city.
But, as far as I can see, I cannot navigate using umap.

Doing both requires much effort: double modifications, double backups, ...
Don't know what to do.
Just for (technical) reference, rhe page is written in simple markup and automagically exported to HTML.
Ideas?

I'm creating a webpage page (in ) to help friends, colleagues and people in general to organize a trip to : with a Japanese wife I've been there a dozen of times and I can help.
I have created a set of POIs thanks to @organicmaps and people that read the page can download and import the KMZ file in OrganicMaps.

Same for me: after years with Markdown for README files and notes (I've even (almost) fully translated the great @qownnotes in Italian), I've recently moved to start learning Emacs and Org Mode.
One syntax only, and I can even automagically export to HTML and create this, all written in Emacs and in Org Mode Markup syntax: https://marcoxbresciani.codeberg.page/

Weeknotes (CW12): slow, low week.

There's a lot of "caring" in my personal and professional life: elderly/disabled mother, disabled partner, programme participants. Not to mention I'm at that age where questioning my place and value in the grand scheme of things is par for the course. So: largely unproductive this week; what I needed was rest, what I gave myself was procrastination and escapism. A void of executive function.

I'm also a professional Kanban guy (Scrum Master to a couple of teams, playing with Kanban method and metrics) and I'm thinking about some few tiny modifications to (hopefully) improve it in a more Kanban-accurate way.
