⛈️ Stormy clouds and much needed rains in Granada. The sunny weather is already returning ☀️, and the main reservoir for Granada is just above over 50% of its capacity, and well down on the last 4 years' average for the same period. We still need more rain, or snow on the Sierra 🏔️🙏

Perusing the science news this morning, as I do, I came across an interesting article about scientists finding an effect of menthol on Alzheimer's disease. Anecdotally, my nan had a obsession for sucking on boiled mints, which only grew with her sad decline.
I remember worrying that maybe the mints were making her worse, but maybe it was her way of fighting back against the disease ...

Accessibility across the web is a complete mess ... you can have all the branding and colours you like, but that doesn't mean all the peeps can see, hear and interact with the various emojis, buttons, controls, sliders, toggles and links, across all browsers, and on all devices. Can't believe we're in 2024 and we haven't solved this yet. 🤦
That time of the month I have to spin up a virtual machine just to use some terrible Windows-only software, the unwanted updates come rolling in, my well souped-up computer heats up, the fans spin, and everything grinds to a halt ... bah 🤦♂️
I've had such a run of maxed out work days, weekends and nights, with weeks of a vomiting daughter at home (which is also my office), and both daughters coughing and sounding like they're suffocating through the night - it's really affected me. Time to take a break, take a deep breath, and re-recalibrate. Sending out #hugs to all who like me might need them! 🫂
