Bis 2050 wird Kernfusion die dominante Energiequelle auf der Erde sein. Dazu soll der offene Reaktor im Zentrum des Sonnensystems durch Fernfusionsempfänger angezapft und mit Batterien stabilisiert werden.     je mehr ich drüber nachdenke eigentlich schlecht organisiert
    die Polizei hätte die Kundgebung weiterlaufen lassen können
    und man hätte mit den Ordnern organisieren können, dass alle einen Schritt nach hinten gehen

    Ziel eines |s ist nicht, demokratiefeindliche Ideologien zu zerstören. Das kann es wie ständig korrekterweise betont wird ja auch gar nicht.

    Das Ziel des Verbots ist die Demokratiefeinde aus staatlichen Strukturen rauszuhalten, weil die da immensen Schaden anrichten können

    Schaut nach Polen: Die Rechtsausleger von der wurden abgewählt, z.T. rechtskräftig verurteilt und klammern sich immer noch an die Macht, weil die alle Strukturen durchseucht haben.

    Lasst die / ruhig mit gegen die protestieren. Klar, bei der Truppe gibt's gerade unter viele rechtsoffene Schanierpolitiker. Aber unterm Strich sollen die ruhig sehen, dass auch Konservative mit Antifaschischmus punkten können. Das gibt den vernünftigen bei denen vielleicht auch mal ein bisschen Auftrieb.

    Zu den bittersten Niederlagen meines Lebens gehört, dass es mir trotz eBooks, Papierbüchern, Videos, Podcasts usw. zu wenig gelungen ist, die Erkenntnisse der über die autoritären Gefahren von Öl & Gas zu vermitteln.

    Sehe es dabei auch als Fehler, dass ich zu lange auf dem im Deutschen mit Rentieren verknüpften Begriff beharrte, statt die VWL-Variante zu wählen.     Tatsächlich ist das mit der Substitution nicht so einfach. Was die wenigsten über die Wertschöpfungskette von Mineralöl verstehen, ist, dass es hier Kuppelproduktion gibt. Die chemische Industrie mit allem was dran steckt, braucht primär die leichten Komponenten. Die Moleküle, die Diesel werden, nützen da nix und Kapazität an Konversionsanlagen ist aktuell eher gering.

    Dieses ganze "Ohne Bauern keine Lebensmittel!"-Gerede will mir nicht in den Kopf. Die meisten Menschen, die am Wirtschaftsleben teilnehmen, produzieren Güter für alle. Ohne Ärzte/Pfleger keine medizinische Versorgung. Ohne Raffinerien keine Treibstoff. Ohne Lokalbetriebe kein Leitungswasser.

    Klar, Essen ist in der Bedürfnispyramide ganz unten. Aber wir hungern in 🇪🇺 jetzt nicht und auch Bauern wollen ja Smartphones, Kinofilme und hübsche Haarschnitte. Also gerne mal runter vom hohen Ross.

    @ErikUden It states even in the abstract:

    "From the authors' perspective, prostitution is an act of violence against women; it is an act which is intrinsically traumatizing to the person being prostituted."

    I.e., the authors have an agenda about the researched topic. According to the standards of ethical science, those authors should not publish about this topic, because of the problem of confirmation bias, which is especially rampant in empirical work (which this is).

    @ErikUden I know about other studies which show the same result, but they all suffer from low quality, especially confirmation bias. All of them are inherently anti-sexwork, which sex-worker activists themselves point out time and time again.

    I do not have an issue with the results, but the fact that there are paper mills out there, which publish bad quality science (typically in fields which suffer from replication crisis) to mask anti-sexwork reactionary political agendas.

    @ErikUden I am telling you, there is no study that proves anything, because the issue is complicated, but only researched by people with political agendas whose scientific training was asking badly formulated questions to university students on their way to lunch and drawing wild conclusions from it even their data does not support.

    Ui, die EU will eine Führerscheinreform machen. Und die ganze Autolobby von ADAC bis FDP stehen schon Gewehr-bei-Fuß alle neuen Regeln abzulehnen, wie die NRA wenn es in den USA um Waffenrecht geht 😄

    An interesting fact I learned is that internal combustion engines are so inefficient that you could charge an average electric vehicle using a coal powerplant, and even with all the energy lost to transformers, power lines, charging, etc, it'd still be more efficient than an average gas powered car, even if you ignore the entire petroleum refinement and distribution process.

    @malwaretech If you use a coal power plant and only look on fuel efficiency, not lifetime efficiency, and only on energy efficiency, you might be right. But if you take for example carbon efficiency, your coal power plant will quickly lose out to anything, because of the horrible C/H ratio.

    Ich lehne die Änderungsanträge der Berichterstatterin im Verkehrsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments zur Reform der Führerscheinrichtlinie entschieden ab und mein Haus wird sich weiterhin in den EU-Arbeitsgruppen für Änderungen einsetzen.

    Klar ist, Deutschland wird den Vorschlägen in dieser Form nicht zustimmen. Die Verhandlungen zur EU-Führerscheinrichtlinie befinden sich noch in frühem Stadium. Die EU-Mitgliedsstaaten haben daher noch die Möglichkeit, Änderungen einzubringen, so Wissing.
