Leanne, is there any coordination process in Wales for renewable development proposals to be routed through independent bodies like Community Energy?

I’m sure this crap will be recycled through Scottish Labour too.

Student Reporters Offer a Lesson on World Press Freedom Day

The escalating authoritarianism we’re witnessing in the crackdown on college campuses is, in part, a by-product of a media system that fails to hold powerful interests accountable for the lies they tell.

Rory Stewart says the world spends 2.4 Trillion on defence (Pounds? Dollars? Smarties?) but I’m unclear which invading planetary force we’re worried about (Romulans? Klingons? Kardashians?)

BashStKid,
@BashStKid@mastodon.online avatar

@christineburns All I’ll say it will be a good day when the schools and hospitals have all the money they need, and the generals are forced to hold a raffle.

Alternatively, it would be fascinating if the UK reduced its defence to Irish levels (~0.2% GDP) and focused that on a professional rescue, disaster response & emergency management force which would be useful all the time, not a worthless armed force that’s never going to be used.

Blackpool verdict looks like electoral death sentence for Tories - https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/may/03/blackpool-verdict-looks-like-electoral-death-sentence-for-tories "Full results likely to point to drubbing for Rishi ’s Conservatives at the general election" a bit premature, but one can hope...

BashStKid,
@BashStKid@mastodon.online avatar

@Lassielmr @fkamiah17 @glynmoody
It’s a possibility for sure, but my guess is that Reform see no benefit in that. They’d rather see the Tories smashed and desperate, then simply take over the bits they like at no cost. (eg the party finance lists, the electoral agent lists, the local activist lists). In short, a cheap decapitate and absorb strategy that as a private company they can do without adhering to any electoral guidelines.

No new baby goats this morning (just the 4 from the last few days). The mama who's been gigantic for the last month is due today, so hopefully she'll have lots of healthy babies! I remember when I first saw a CPC464 in a shop I was working in, in 1984.

It was a very neat answer to what the market needed in 1982. But by 1984, cassette storage and Z80s were clearly long in the tooth—it came out the same year as the Macintosh, and 12 months late Atari STs and Amigas were showing up.
