I was wandering around the Milwaukee County Zoo after a snowstorm and came upon this tranquil scene. I love how the picnic tables are in the shadow under the heavy snow-covered trees. It was as peaceful as it looks.

I couldn't have been happier to capture the beauty of Mabry Mill in the misty early morning rain. The weather kept the crowds away, allowing me to take many stunning photographs. My husband visited later in the day and it was so busy that he had to park in the overflow lot.

The Blue Ridge Parkway offers beautiful views of the snow-covered mountains after a storm. While the road itself was cleared, the pull-offs may require an all-wheel-drive for easy access. The contrasting combination of light snow and dark gray clouds created a stunning view.

The Soo Locks are a way for ships to travel to and from Lake Superior to Lake Huron and the St. Lawrence Seaway. Years ago, we had the opportunity to watch a lake freighter go through the Soo Locks just after sunrise. It was exciting to see such a huge ship close up!
