Absolutely unpleasant that the Channel 4 video service will pause ads if the browser window is minimised, so you have to be subjected to the ads if you want to watch the show. The whole relationship with ads is becoming very adversarial. Luckily(!) you can get around it with split windows etc. so at least I can vent on here while ignoring this Bisto ad. Mmm... Bisto... oh damn it!

#ClimateDiary SERENDIPITY!

1/3 Daughter sent me this photo today - a massive lake in Gildredge Park in #Eastbourne where there is normally just grass. I remembered that about a year ago the same happened and I did my very first #ClimateDiary post (before official launch). And then felt bad as I had been planning to write a #ClimateDiary blog to mark our one year anniversary, but assumed I had missed it by now; another one of my many unfinished, undone projects. It’s 3.30am and I’ve barely slept a wink. Too keyed up about our flight later this morning. I’ve got to get up in 2.5 hours, jeez. I just finished reading a novel, it was pretty rubbishy and I won’t be reading any more from that author. Next up is Daisy Jones and the Six, which I’ve heard good things about. That will be my aeroplane read, although the flight’s long I might get through more than one book

Morning, I slept fitfully due to coughing even propped up on three pillows. I gave up at 6.30 and myself a bath. I’m going to take the morning off and then do the second part of this wonderful training in the afternoon. No pub for me this evening 😢 and I don’t think I have it in me to exercise. Hope you’re feeling perkier and more with it than I am and you’re looking forward to the weekend

Right! Work is over, time for a treadmill run, then a bath, then I’ll make dinner. We’re having one of our favourite recipes tonight, cod, potato and spring onion stew. The sauce involves sweated onion and leek, white wine, grated courgette, anchovies, milk, and fish stock. It’s finished with a drizzle of olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped parsley #food

Took advantage of a sunny day and had a nice drive around Exeter and surrounding area, had a (literal!) chill by the beach etc. It's a nice part of the world but it must be suuuper busy in summer. Also, noticed a delightfully high dog:human ratio, which is always fun. Camera doing its usual freak out with the lighting and dramatic contrast.

Addition to @pvonhellermannn's brilliant #ClimateDiary from Devon today, November 23rd, as I walked the dog and visited a local graveyard wearing a short-sleeved shirt and feeling warm in the sunshine. A nicer day than most of Summer was up North. Hmm.

Exciting times in Leeds as they've now opened a footbridge over the river. Much quicker to get to the Co-Op now, and there's a cute little garden area too which incorporates an old doorway that was left standing long after the rest of the building fell to ruins.

A view of a little rest area on the South side of the bridge with an arched doorway to a long-gone building incorporated into a little green planted area, a bench for weary pedestrians and a broad walkway to the main road. A vibrant, red-leaved sapling takes center stage along the walkway.

Some comments have resurfaced that I deeply regret, in which I referred to Episode 1: The Phantom Menace as “the best ever.”

To be clear, I was 10 years old at the time. But I recognise that is no excuse.

Today has been a long work day and I am tired, but I did manage to get out for a walk at lunch time, which I really ought to do more of. It was a nice day in the North! I took a photo to prove it. Looking forward to a weekend of maybe some video games??? and maybe a little bit of something creative. I need to feel like I've achieved a thing, I think.
