#ClimateDiary If anyone here is near #Eastbourne in the next few weeks: do come and see the Emma Stibbon “melting ice rising tide” exhibition at the Towner Gallery, which rather brilliantly connects her polar art with new work on the changing Sussex coast line.

Thinking about impermanence, all the more at the moment because if i lose my job we might have to move. I have moved so much in my life and used to not mind, but I really love Eastbourne and really don’t want to move; I wonder whether that’s also because of an overall sense of uncertainty and insecurity. Or maybe i am just getting older and all change seems bad..
1/3 Daughter sent me this photo today - a massive lake in Gildredge Park in #Eastbourne where there is normally just grass. I remembered that about a year ago the same happened and I did my very first #ClimateDiary post (before official launch). And then felt bad as I had been planning to write a #ClimateDiary blog to mark our one year anniversary, but assumed I had missed it by now; another one of my many unfinished, undone projects. BUT, i just checked:

It’s been fed back to me (offline) that some of you here are finding my relentless negativity too much. I know - have been conscious of that too (i really have had a bit of a dip), and I am sorry.
So in an attempt to be more positive again: we had a lovely rainbow 🌈 here in #Eastbourne. I shared a picture on our street WhatsApp group and so many others shared theirs and we decided to see it as a sign of hope! #Community#Hope#MagicInTheCity

@SiR_GameZaloT great you are doing this! What kind of people, and where? Will try and think of some ideas, but it kind of depends on who it is. For example, in my town here, #Eastbourne, I would say very different things to affluent residents than to ones from deprived areas, and again very different things to, for example, villagers in Tanzania
