We bought our first house 1995.

Days before closing, the government shut down, throwing our VA loan out the window.

Cue frantic scrambling for a conventional mortgage at the last minute!

I have never bought a house. I never really felt that my head was far enough above water to purchase anything. I am still hesitant about buying. I harbor no illusions that anyone involved is trying to do the best thing for me. I qualify for a truly stupidly large loan. I was told to go high and fast when I make an offer. I think there are a lot people circling and trying to consume me. Any thoughts? Advice?

I think these days most people don't expect to stay in a house for 30 years. People change houses for career/family reasons more frequently now. But having a 30 year mortgage makes the payments more manageable, and after 5-10 years you can almost always sell at a profit.

Good news. My mom's heart has resumed its normal rhythm (she had A-fib). This means that she will not need a procedure and has no restrictions. Phew. That's a load off. Checkup in 3 months.

Last week I installed the cache plugin people recommended to prevent that error message when I first put the link on Mastodon. People still got the error messages and the plugin messed up my website, so deleted it and I'm back where I started.

If you get the message, lucky you! Wait a minute and try again.

(Okay, so there really isn't any sex, at least not on the page. FALSE ADVERTISING!)

    I’m aware of pretty much everything you’re telling me, I’ve had C-Diff before & did a deep dive on it when I got it the 1st time. So all you armchair doctors out there, I’m on it.

    I only listen to my own dr btw. As well-meaning as your advice is, you don’t know me, only my dr does, & he’s top notch.

    But whoever reminded me about yogurt thing, TY. I knew & forgot about live vs not.

    My dad was a renowned dr, I’m more aware than many about too much, lol. TY again!

    New rule, all front end web developers must work on a 1024x768 screen for all their testing. I am so fed up with cookie pop ups that I can't clear cos the buttons to close it have fallen off the bottom of the screen, and there's no scrolling allowed... and no zooming... Stupid fucked up web.

    You probably already know this, but sometimes you can change the resolution on your screen (temporarily) enough that you can access the buttons.
