Despite a bit of pain and fatigue, I went out to a local street party (public transport and walking to get there). Lovely atmosphere, beautiful weather, wonderful.

But I am now in a bit of a pickle. I'm even more exhausted and sore and the idea of walking back to PT is overwhelming me. So I'm just sitting and waiting for some energy to emerge or something.

Visiting and next month - open to tips and suggestions from locals/recent visitors!

Will be going to various museums, Rottnest Island/wadjemup and the Busso pier underwater experience, plus some beaches and breweries. No hiking/really long walks. Open to other tips!

A-Leagues: Yes, we will really want to capitalise on the and create a legacy for women in sport, this is going to be the best season ever!

Also A-Leagues: Women's game will kick-off on a weekday at 4.30pm local time, how good!

I live in inner and have just been visited by a door-to-door worker from 60Shades asking to install energy saving shower heads and door seals for free. Apparently they go door-to-door because people don't pick up unknown spam calls any more. The worker is getting paid virtually nix commission for each call but bonus if he installs something.

  1. I hate spam calls
  2. I am suspicious of unsolicited door-to-door sales putting pressure on you to make a decision immediately - a tactic that makes you vulnerable to bad decisions.
  3. I don't like companies employing workers to do this rotten job, especially if they are not paid well. They are going to be vulnerable to abuse.

I had a short chat and politely declined the service. This looks like it is being done through a Victorian government scheme via private companies.

What are your thoughts on this scenario and door-to-door sales generally?

@perkinsy It's not good. There's unnecessary pressure for people to accept, and a lack of transparency for people. Improved comms from the government would increase the take-up of the system - because they're certainly important improvements to make! Either that or the contractors knock only to provide information about the system and provide their details if someone wishes to take up the offer later, but it's an inefficient marketing tactic.

    Have been waiting to hear about whether my will let me sign another 12-month , and was mentally preparing for a increase of $50 or more per week.

    The email finally came today. There will be another 12-month lease, and increase of $40 per month. I am beyond relieved. And I am so lucky that this well within my means.

    Heartbreaking as an oranjes fan, but the better team won. Oranjes were hardly in it in terms of chances, though were very physical. Perhaps a result of the amount of travel they've had to do?

    Yet another strange and poor decision from in this tournament for me in the match.

    Was a clear shove in the area that would have been a free kick anywhere else on the pitch. Saw very little in the VAR replay that indicated a "clear and obvious error" to have it overturned.
