@gamingonlinux I'll add Facebook groups to that as well.

I was essentially forced to make a fake Facebook account just to join a huge group that is only on Facebook and has a ton of knowledge and experience.

It's walled off to the rest of the internet and I didn't even know the group existed until recently.

Old school forums are the way.

    Since it's finally October, I'm going to try and remember to post at least one article related to Halloween each day.

    Starting of with the review for Zombies Ate My Neighbours on Super Nintendo from Super Play 12 - October 1993 (UK)

    @OutofPrintArchive Anything from Kenji Eno (D, D2, Enemy Zero). I'm fairly certain you have posted them before but it would be a great time to revisit them.

    Any other FMV style games would be neat to see.

    • Mansion of hidden Souls (Sega CD)
    • The Mansion of hidden Souls (Saturn)
    • Lunacy/Torneko (Saturn)
    • Shadow of Destiny/Memories (PS2)

    Just some ideas that I think would be neat to read.

    @OutofPrintArchive That's an excellent idea. I look forward to reading them.

    Starting off with an all time classic, I see!

    @OutofPrintArchive Awesome!

    I wouldn't go out of your way to dig them up, but if you happen to come across any of them it would make for a great read this month.

    @OutofPrintArchive I'm really not sure what it goes for these days. You're probably right though. It probably goes for way too much.

    It's also such a strange fusion of games that I could see many people playing it today may not like it.

    I loved it at the time and there really is nothing else like it. Though I wonder if I have the patience to play through it these days...

    I might have to hook my Saturn up later today and give it a shot.

    Judeau,
    @Judeau@mas.to avatar

    @OutofPrintArchive I remember you mentioning that you picked this one up. I had never heard of it so I watched a review on YouTube.

    I've never really gotten into visual novels but it does sound pretty dark at times.

    Judeau,
    @Judeau@mas.to avatar

    @OutofPrintArchive it's been years since I've given Enemy Zero a play.

    I still have a notebook with notes and hand-drawn maps of this game from 25 years ago.

    I still remember playing this with the lights out and having my first enemy encounter. It was absolutely panic-inducing.

    Such a great game and strange fusion of genres.

    Kenji Eno left behind a short but unforgettable legacy.

    He makes me think of the quote ''The candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long''

    @OutofPrintArchive Oh Wow! I had no idea that something like this was in the works.

    Just watching that trailer had me a bit teary eyed 🥲 but I am overjoyed to see something like this be filmed.

    The video says 2023. I wonder if it's still slated for this year? Thanks for sharing this.

    Judeau,
    @Judeau@mas.to avatar

    @OutofPrintArchive Kenji Eno was such a fascinating person. I always enjoy his interviews.

    He had such vision and in many interviews came across as this rebellious individual that would do anything to achieve his goals. But at the same time seemed very compassionate and humble.

    Much like the games he created, Mr. Eno was somewhat of an enigma himself.

    He passed away too early in life.

    Judeau,
    @Judeau@mas.to avatar

    @OutofPrintArchive They had quite a few reveals where they promoted different aspects/characters of the game.

    Maybe that's why it felt like it was already out. 🤷‍♂️

    Also it 'appears' that there is a bigger, larger audience that is more interested in the Trails titles. That coupled with the fact that Ys 9 was a good game but I think most would agree it was a slight step down from 8... maybe people are taking a wait and see approach?

    Judeau,
    @Judeau@mas.to avatar

    @OutofPrintArchive Was it a new release this week? For some reason I was thinking it had been out for a little while.

    If that's new release numbers then yeah, that's a little disheartening to see, especially for such a flagship series.

    @OutofPrintArchive @scribblemacher Yep! That's a perfect example of why Symphony of the Night had no reason to have the issues that it did.

    Judeau,
    @Judeau@mas.to avatar

    @scribblemacher @OutofPrintArchive It's easy to hate the Saturn version of Symphony of the Night for what it's not. It should have been and could have been much better. It should have been a showcase for the Saturn and the definitive version of the game.

    While Konami really dropped the ball, it's still an excellent game for what it is and I always found the extra additions really cool.

    @OutofPrintArchive That was a hilarious read. 🤣 Whoever wrote that preview had a tremendous amount of fun writing it.

    I always really liked the Mansion of Hidden Souls games and D and Enemy Zero. I wanted a copy of Lunacy/Torico for many years but when I finally managed to snag a copy I played it for an hour or so and never touched it again.

    I have to be in a particular mood or mindset when I play these games. I think I just wasn't there at the time. I need to give this game fair shot.

    This has me VERY excited. In my opinion this should have been done a long time ago. In addition to the optimizations it also has Widevine support and can use the hardware for h.264 encoding/ decoding.

    I have not been to a Starbucks since all the union busting began, though I would happily support a unionized location.

    I never thought we would see one unionize in Oklahoma. With our ''Right to Work'' laws i wonder how effective this can be?

    I suppose as long as everyone is on the same page and the entire store unionizes and new hires also agree to the union then they could position themselves as a real force to be reckoned with.
