This may be a silly question, but how does one actually read short story collections? Is it the same as if reading a novel? Do you put the book down between every story? Do you look for connections between the stories? Am I supposed to read them linearly?
Do you know of a book recommendation engine that will suggest fiction books based on the non-fiction books I read and like?
I want to get more into fiction, and it’s been hard to nail down books that can keep my interest beyond the first few chapters. Thanks in advance! And please boost for wider exposure. #bookworm#books#bookrecommendations
47% if it is Levin there is something dark happening and here is no different 👀 I am sure they are drinking the kook aid 👀👀 but I see the pacts and abuse 😐😐 #books#bookish#bookworm#booknerd@bookstodon

The first page of my "Fantasy/Attempted Comedy" story, The Last Philosopher.
I've been rewriting it again, but this first page still has some issues.
The question is would you keep reading? ☺️
Random question: how are you using the #fediverse? I have my main account where I post all kinds of things (but I'm a #ttrpg dm at heart). I have a pixelfed account where I post random b/w pictures. I have another automated account where I post some rss feeds. And my blog is federated as well.
But how are you guys using it?
I for example didn't get into #bookworm or #funkwhale at all, the latter I don't even really get the use for.
Decided to pick this #Horror#Fantasy series up. #Necroscope, by Brian Lumley. My hubby has had it for many years and I was suddenly in the mood for this genre. I am thoroughly enjoying it. There are many #books in the Necroscope universe. About 20 of them.
I almost wanted to say "Bah Humbug" for today's #3GoodThings, given I'm hobbling about on a walking cane today and am likely to need it for a few more days until my spine calms TF down. But, let's do it anyway.
The weather's nice. Not too hot, not too cold.
Kumquats and a mini papaya granola bowl for brunch was lovely.
My blood sugars behaving after I cut down my insulin dosage as an experiment.
Hanging out with a friend, officially my first social Saturday in years (though we've hung out on weekdays before). Trifecta of great convo with a fellow introvert, great food and bookstore met.
Top-notch instant ramen and buffalo wings for dinner while watching DS9 s3, "The House of Quark" which had me laughing so loud.
The fact that it's a Saturday Night and I'm about to crawl into bed with a book.
Do we see here the first ever #RISCV based #TOR node running? I just provided a TOR node for the #onion network on one of my #VisionFive boards. This one currently runs on #Debian#Linux (will be switched to #FreeBSD soon).
