  • Twitter: Rate-limited
  • Reddit: Third-party apps dead
  • Pornhub: Effectively just got banned in my state because of a bad law
  • Bluesky: Slow as molasses because everyone’s on a single server
  • Twitch: Hear they’re having problems, too
  • YouTube: Working OK but sudden questions about them, too

Since I don't want to be all rageyrantey, here are some great games I've recently played and enjoyed:

  • MARVEL'S MIDNIGHT SUNS is really, really fun and charming and wholesome and good. Play it for the friendship simulation bits, not in spite of them.

  • AGE OF WONDERS 4 is just as good as everyone is saying. The best 4X game I have played in a very long time, and I haven't even touched mods yet (also, there are 4 really juicy looking expansions in the pipeline.)

So I wrote this program where I read and write a fixed size vec!. My algorithm doesn't always work like I want, so I added code to track where I read and write from it step by step to debug it.

The problem is that this tracking "pollutes" my code and I'd like to use a library or a macro to track get and set of this array so I can cleanly switch this tracking on and off.

Does anyone know a library that does this or do I need to write my own?

Boost for range appreciated. 😃

@jwildeboer ELIZA was the first simple chatbot algorithm I saw. It doesn't use a neuronal network. Just an algorithm capturing the subject and trying to turn around the conversation so you do the talking and the chatbot asking the questions about the subject. @jwildeboer Eliza is a fascinating simple algorithm. What was even more fascinating was how many people thought it might really be a human talking back to them.
Since that event, I know that even intelligent people will easily think a program forming correct sentences on a chosen subject might have an equal intellect they have themselves. 2/2

@regehr a good friend of mine had to maintain some scripts. He calls them "write-only".
I have a growing list of and select queries, which need sub- and sub-sub-queries (and so on). Those really make sense when I write them, but are hard to figure out after a week working on different code.

A thing that's a big frustration to me is Microsoft bought my favorite Android keyboard (SwiftKey) awhile back, and roughly the moment they bought it they stopped ALL feature work on it. So I've got some minor but persistent UI complaints about SwiftKey, like you can't enable a language's accents without enabling its autocomplete, or you can't (since Microsoft bought it) disable Flow. @mcc I've bought SwiftKey some years ago and deinstalled it when I found that my default Android keyboard (gboard) could do swipe input too: https://support.google.com/gboard/answer/2811346?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid

I like how I can easily change how my Linux behaves. Usability is improving slowly but steadily. But often missing driver support makes things harder than it should.
