I'm about to sell a bunch of old TTRPG and related gaming stuff (a SHIT TON of Car Wars stuff, which is not an RPG but a tactical combat game, for example) on ebay but if any of my Fedi peeps are into that stuff and might be interested, I'd sell it to you for a bit cheaper than you could find it on ebay. If you were only bringing one synth keyboard with you on stage to perform, what would you bring up there? I’m asking because I have a vision of me, my guitar, and a stage synth I could stand near and use on and off. It would have to also carry some nice analog piano sounds at times. Not sure if it’s possible to do unless it’s a midi controller with laptop. But it’d be so cool if it was a standalone analog unit. The simplicity appeals. :blobcatcoffee:

@elsemusic @ambergrey Regarding 88 keys, I find my 61 keys sometimes limiting. OTOH I watched a video where the person was playing an MPK Mini and was rocking it, deftly hitting the octave buttons without missing a beat.

Long night so far.

A call from my sister just after midnight that she’d taken mum to the hospital.

Been holding bedside vigil while sister goes home and gets some sleep. Doctors running tests and whatnot. Morphine for the pain. Machines that go “bing”.

It’s about 4:30am and mum’s snoring with a plethora of tubes and wires.

Eyes are heavy. Chair is uncomfortable. The nurses showed me where I could make a cup of coffee for myself.

    Dear community. My wife and I need some advice. We just quit our jobs at a rural middle school. There is a young person in the school who identifies as he/them and as far as I know is the only one in the school. We know their mom from outside the school and she is supportive of him but I’m unsure how helpful. The young person has bonded with my wife. He was recently admitted into mental health care for suicidal thoughts for 7-10 days. How can we help them? 🙏

    I am curious about strandberg guitars. Has anyone tried one? I am concerned about why the maker chooses a plastic nut at the price point. Why not graph tusq? Maybe I’m overthinking that.

    @ambergrey @RyanHyde I bought an Ibanez QX52 a couple of years ago and love it. With the headless design, the alternate strap connector on the bottom of the body, the light weight and slanted frets (not multi scale) it is so comfortable to hold and play.

    I’m working on remixing some things I had on SoundCloud. One of them has excerpts from a CNN interview with Brandon Wolf and a sample from an Alan Lomax album a la Moby’s Play & Play: B sides. I think it is one of my better compositions with a good message. My question is what do I need to do to not get it taken down when I release it?
