@stux the worst scam is that they force you to turn on Siri for CarPlay to work. Up until I owned a car with CarPlay I had always just had Siri turned off completely.

Trying to watch the SOTU streaming on my TV, but it seems to be impossible. On Roku I can find a bunch of streams that come in the middle, and was trying to watch it on NBC, but in the middle it just switches to news stories.

@billyjoebowers @trewhytte or maybe you just don’t know what you’re missing in the current crop of bikes. The geometry changes and suspension kinematics of modern bikes put them so far ahead of bikes from 15 years ago there’s no comparison, and I have zero complaints with my 1x drivetrain. If you ride anywhere with steep descents, dropper posts really are a total game changer.

That said you’ll have to pry my ‘90s bikes from my cold dead hands, but will I ever ride them again?🤷‍♂️ Doubtful.

From this side of the pond it looks like the GOP tries to do everything to cause as many doubt as possible, try to ban education so people won't get wiser and spreads more mis information then ever

It's 2024, we should all come and work together to solve our many issues, not fight & hate each other

I am so sorry for everyone on the Fediverse who has to deal with the enormous amount of spam the past few days♥️

Most admins and mods are trying to deal with it as fast as possible but the issue is that the spam comes from so many smaller instances that we simple need to limit the instances or ban individual spam accounts otherwise they would lose all connections on a full ban.. that’s not what we want

Needs a bit more 2:1 honey syrup. I think. Make your honey syrup before hand with hot water or you get lumps of honey in the ice.

The coop had some Kingston Jamaican White rum going cheap. From Wray &Neph via Appleton. Tastes ok and half the price of 3star.

In the past I've worked a few years for a asbestos removal company

The preperation alone is so much work, before and afterwards. Building an air-closed tent, putting it under pressure, special suits, shower before and after going in the tent etc etc

So to read there are people who dumb and burn this stuff in public to make a point makes me super angry..

Asbestos can be freaking dangerous if not handled right! Maybe not directly but it'll catch up with you at some point..

@stux yeah that’s really disappointing.

My dad died of lung cancer when I was young. The first thing my mom did with some of his life insurance money was to have the asbestos ceiling texture removed from our home. We moved out for over a month, and the process was much like you describe.

I've gotten pretty good at cutting my own hair the last couple of years, but really just the one fairly short cut, which I've had forever now.

So I keep trying to let it grow out, keep hating it, and don't know how to maintain it.

45ml Gin, 22ml Red Vermouth, 22ml Green Chartreuse, Orange Bitters, Lemon twist, Cherry (or Olive)

Originally 1890s, 25ml equal quantities. This is the Dale Degrof re-invention. The Ethicurean (now closed) added muddle rosemary and a sprig as garnish.

Then there's the Dead Rabbit version. 45ml Gin, 45ml Red Vermouth, 15ml Green Chartreuse, 2 dash Orange Bitters, 2 dash angostura, 2 dash Absinthe, Orange peel.

Rather than throwing off the ratios so much it ups the ABV with Navy strength gin, then dries it out a bit with the mix of vermouths. This is my favorite version I’ve found.
