Kaori the LI in my second novel starts the novel off feeling this way. She sees her destined romantic partner and allows her to turn her life around.

Shiomi/Shishi has this moment at the end of volume one of Konkini Idol. But I'm not saying any more about that since it is the whole driving issue and climax of that volume.

Starting point, Ending point. and some ideas of major landmarks. That comes out as 10 to 12 bullet points, character sketches for the major characters, and probably one or two scenes written. I invest far more time in the characters than the plot.

I am an active luddite and do what I can to sabotage AI.

When does it cross the line?

1. When steals training material.
2. When it plagiarizes or mimics others.
3. When they utilize immoral terms of service. i.e looting social media that have implemented "legalized theft."
4. When it attempts to substitute itself for real individuals.
5. When it attempts to pass itself off as human output.
6. When it attempts to imply it is "intelligence."

In other words, everything that currently labels itself as AI. "Deep Learning" tools could be acceptable but not as they are currently implemented and run.

Oh forgot when it uses "sweatshop" labor.

I was very briefly in a discord group for writers that I’d been invited to join. Someone posted something which included the word “bullshit,” and the discord host said there was no room for such language as it was a “family-friendly” forum, something that was definitely not mentioned before I joined up. I quickly left the server, as I use words much more salty than that, and do not write “family-friendly” fiction.

It never crosses the line.

Humans using it cross the line.

If it tells the writer a sentence is wrong, that’s fine. If the writer substitutes the sentence AI provides, that’s the line crossed.

And that's just the little stuff.

I shouldn’t have to explain this.

Traditionally: My narrative character takes a long time to confess romantic feelings and the LI is all over it right from the start.

In my WIP the characters are Disaster Lesbians so they are having a great deal of trouble confessing their feelings.

Muko - The Shadowland is a space existing all around us, though few can see it. It is where supernatural beings exist, some ancient and others sparked by recent legends and stories. It is also where souls that can't pass over become stuck. Descriptions of it vary depending on the observer and how deeply they penetrate it. This is not a place meant for living humans.

The uninformed view it as hostile but that is a misunderstanding. It is alien and its and its inhabitants' desires are different than our own Sometimes they harm humans in the mundane world and sometimes bring benefit.

It's complicated with a cast that includes ace alloromantic characters. But I suppose it's Kaori and Kan-chan, Shiro's partners. They are very good friends, Kan-chan sometimes calls Kaori sis.

Kan-chan: Able to take advice from those she leads.

Arisu: I beg to differ. It would have to be Sayaki.

#Dream Ops! By Design

I was working at Microsoft again as a Software Test Engineer and discovered they had broken the microwave feature. It could no longer detect if you had put metal in the microwave and it was sparking.

When I put the bug report in it was closed with the note. We can’t fix this.

I reopened it with the comment, “This worked in Windows 10.”

It was closed again, and a project manager told me to drop it. It was too late in the product cycle to fix now.

So I came in early in the morning, lined up all the computers in the test lab. Put metal cans in the microwaves and blew up the computers and the electrical system of the MS campus.

Then sent a message saying:

Ops! By Design.

We went to the local doctor and sat on their driveway, a long gravel drive through stately towering trees. They took their bag out of a car, and after searching around, declared they had mislaid their atropine and would have to go to the house to get it. #dreamjournal

Good day!

The weather starts inching towards mild today.

Time to finish Chapter 73. I was dragging yesterday after an awful night’s sleep. This morning, I feel refreshed and eager to attack whatever comes my way.

Owing to drafting Book-2 while gravely ill in late 2016, the story is a patchwork of chapters added at various times. This chapter, the latest, was added 14-months ago.

In the end, it’s the polished whole that matters.

Everyone said that, but it was a mistake. I had seen Mikawa, and she was definitely alive. Why wouldn’t Ume let me go? All I wanted to do was be with my girlfriend. Did this damn bitch think I would go with her when I had Mika?

“Fuck you,” I said and tried to get away. “She’s waiting. Mika is waiting.”
