I’ve been incredibly angry — furious, even for ME — about the most loathsome and contemptible defamation suit I’ve ever seen in my career, and now Mike Masnick at TechDirt has written about the despicable case and about my anti-SLAPP motion to dismiss it. Reading it just makes me angrier.

@cmeier @markuswerle The wrath isn’t hitting him because he killed two people in a car accident. It’s hitting him because he sued the victims’ relatives for writing private letters complaining about it and then explicitly tried to extort them by saying he’d only dismiss if they agreed not to talk about him or push for his prosecution.

If your sympathy is with him in that scenario, are values are wildly dissimilar.

Alright, we appear to have uncovered something with the help of y'all.

Twitter had a featured apparently called "Quality Filter" - this was probably turned on at some point unbeknownst to me once I crossed X-number of followers but was opt-in otherwise.

This was undoubtedly the thing that hid nasty replies and prevented them from showing up in my notifs. And if this wasn't on for you (or you didn't have access) that may explain why my lived experience Over There has been easier than here.

I’m glad that some people find fulfillment and enjoyment here and wish them well. I’m fine with people deciding Bluesky isn’t for them, and not threatened by it.

Let me rephrase: Hi all, I’m a thin-skinned white guy, who doesn’t ever want to have to be considerate any other person or group. I’m going to take my marbles over to that billionaire’s place where white guys are rule and Jack Dorcy will insist on no moderation, cause what we white guys truly want is the continued colonization of social media.

This is probably useless, but if anyone is a CA lawyer, I have a SLAPP lawsuit against me for a page that I don't even host but does have text I wrote.

An attempt to sue me for 2 million dollars for what others have described as "a review, like on yelp". I gave a friend anti-transgender hate-speech filled emails someone sent me to publish.

Need help using CA anti-SLAPP to dismiss it.
