ShadowRam,

Put that experience at the end.

It's the most irrelevant weak point of your resume

Tech Skills at the top,
Then Projects,
Then Education,

ShadowRam,

His mother wrote on Facebook that he had contracted pneumonia in April and suffered a stroke following an MSRA infection.

I'd expect a very very through autopsy,

ShadowRam,

I see it referenced constantly here, not quite as much on Reddit.

It's a fairly new term.

Reddit is bots and AI, and hasn't been trained on new words.

ShadowRam,

Snake Plissken Escapes from Antarctica

ShadowRam,

Fallout 4 since the patch.

Clean Install,

New Game,

No Mods,

It's been crashing to desktop with no error message like crazy. It takes forever to load between instances (on an PCIe 4.0 M2 drive)

It's a complete flaky mess.

Even in game garbage like DeathClaws getting trapped in build geometry, character getting stuck on things accessing a computer, and other random Bethesda standard shit that you'd think they'd have fixed after all these years....

I couldn't imagine the horse pile of shit problems this game would have running in Proton on SteamDeck. I'm not even going to bother trying to run it on the Steam Deck. It's not even stable on a PC.

ShadowRam,

lot of industry giants and indies have tried

No they haven't.

It's not a hard formula.

Instanced maps,
loot,
use loot to upgrade outside of instance in a way that helps your next playthough,
Player has experience points and leveling of skills,

No other game does this, and any industry giants that claim to have tried have missed 1 of the 4 core elements.

ShadowRam, (edited )

Yes.

There's no looting.

There's no upgrades outside of the instance.

There's no upgrading of players skills.

It just about fails all of them.

Taking weapons out and back in, doesn't count.
There's no looting (of non-combat items)

ShadowRam,

You give him too much credit.

He's too stupid to understand he's being humiliated.

ShadowRam,

it's probably pushing on conductive material nearby with an electrostatic force.

You think a Doctorate expert in electrostatics would miss that?

Dr. Buhler’s background confirms that he is indeed one of NASA’s top experts in electrostatics. In addition to overseeing the management of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and ESD safety for the Space Shuttle, the ISS, and Hubble, Dr. Buhler also established NASA’s Electrostatics and Surface Physics Laboratory at Kennedy Space Center.

ShadowRam,

Nah,

I grew up in the world of BBS's and IRC.
First foray into a chat channel started with someone renaming themselves "34yrDude changes name to 15yrChick"

...and that set the tone for me what the internet is.

It's a entire world where you make absolutely zero assumptions. The 'things' responding in text could be anything. And I say thing instead of people because these days it may not even a person.

There's an entity that responds to my comments, and perhaps seemingly hurtful,

it could be some 10yr old kid who doesn't fully understand,
it could be could be some mentally challenged person,
it could be someone's crazy grandma,

and now it could be some bot that while not purposefully built to be malicious, through emergent behavior is trolling and insulting people because it gets a rise out of people that results in more and longer comments, which tickles its feedback loop to do more of the same.

So nah, there's nothing anyone in the vast internet could type out that I would personally hurt my feelings, because I make no assumptions as to where the comment is coming from, and those comments don't have a lot of weight to me.

ShadowRam,

Its weird,

Because I have a developing conspiracy theory,

It was clear to everyone, Iran, Russia and China have been developing a kind of trinity semi-alliance. And India is/was kinda on the verge of joining it, and if I was some kind of US long term tactical guru sitting around all day around 2010, I would formulating a plan on how to break them up.

Maybe bait Russia into Ukraine.... maybe bait Iran into Israel... maybe bait China into Taiwan?

Watch them drain their military resources and economies into the fight.
Offload all of the US's old equipment, maybe sell some new ones.
Test detection capabilities, see how things have developed since the Gulf War, see how two modernized militaries clash.

Is this article right? Maybe. Is this article is just projecting? Perhaps.

Don't know, but Russia wasting its time/resources and playing it's hand in Ukraine has been net-positive for the US
And I feel if Iran did the same, and Israel starting hitting back hard (with them already saying they wont' be directly involved), then it's a win again for the US.

But that could be playing with fire. The world is fucked if Israel lets off a nuclear device in Iran. Netanyahu is crazy enough to do it, if the people around him let him.

ShadowRam,

More like China is funneling more through Mexico to get around current Tariffs.

ShadowRam,

Realistic
Batteries. It's holding back a LOT of things. A lot of technologies are solved, but just require power.

Semi-Realistic
Room Temperature Super-Conductor.

If that can be solved, the power density and efficiencies would just be astronomical....
It would absolutely destroy multi-billion industries overnight.

Way-Out-There-Stuff
If they ever prove out an actual functional EmDrive-like thruster, that would absolutely open up space travel to our species.

ShadowRam,

Not only on the large scale of things,

But even robots would be in wide spread use if it had a useable runtime.

Something like this, you're good for 20min before it needs to charge.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29ECwExc-_M

But if you could pull that off where it runs for 8 to 12 hours before needing to charge? They would be used everywhere.

ShadowRam,

I'm just getting REAL tired of YT recommending these shit channels that have <300 views, <10 thumbs up, and yet have 20k+ subs and their just ripped videos from other sources with obviously AI generated text to voice.

I've reported a few, and YT has removed them.

Here's an example of one,
https://www.youtube.com/@WorldViewtheory973/videos

Putting out a video on random topics every 2 hours.

ShadowRam, (edited )

I don't understand why governments allow farms to get away with things compared to any other industrialized money making industry

If a farmer had ten or fewer employees at all times during the previous 12 months, the farmer would be considered exempt from OSHA enforcement.

You could get away with your 8 year old to driving a tractor around.

It's a weird gray area of private land and where you live, also happens to be a a potential industrial killing zone.

ShadowRam,

I just blocked a user, because I just kept seeing their name pop up and commenting on 'everything'

Account created 9 months ago with 15000+ Comments
That's like 60 comments a day.

Bot or not, someone with that many comments a day needs to go outside and experience life before posting their opinion on fucking everything.

ShadowRam,

You could double my income, even triple.

....and I still wouldn't risk rising my children in the US.

Not a fucking chance...

ShadowRam,

Is nVidia Shield an alternative?

That's what I've been using for years now. It's great.

Is it me or does reddit feel, weird?

So I checked out reddit after a long time and was going through the top of r/videogames subreddit and I could clearly see a pattern in most of the posts there. Posts were mostly like “what game ______ for you?” or “what game _____ like this?” Now I could be wrong but it doesn’t feel ‘organic’ (if that’s correct...

ShadowRam,

bots are fucking atrocious for generating just miles and miles of trash content on Reddit.

As a mod for many years, the real moding work was finding ways to keep the bots at bay.

It got real bad since around 2020ish...

They can train their AI's all they want on Reddit, it's a complete waste of time.

That data is corrupt as shit. It's already littered with garbage old AI posts and comments, and it's gonna poison their models real bad.

ShadowRam,

Will Don Hankey be the new Mike Lindell?

Probably

ShadowRam,

It's insane that they're just opening fire, while innocent drivers are passing by on the opposite side of that highway.

You can see a bullet bounce off the barrier. (3:19)

Like WTF is wrong with your country that you allow your police force to just fire off their weapons in public like that?

None of those cops give a flying fuck about the general public in the background, and people are stunned that they killed the hostage they were supposed to be helping?
