I’m nearing the end of a book & it’s one of those instances where I’m simply not ready to say goodbye to the complex set of characters I’ve come to know.

The last time I felt this way, incidentally, was when I approached the end of Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr. Still one of my favorite reads. /2 #books
Since a few folks have asked & I don’t mean to be mysterious, it’s a draft so it’s not out yet, but I sure hope to see it published soon. It would make an excellent film too. Historical fiction.

Financial constraints to living & working in Washington, D.C. likely define & reinforce the community of people able to stay long enough to achieve senior positions, leading to a policy-making community distinct from the American public.

I’d have preferred the final article to be longer, because there’s so much more detail & nuance than there was room for. But I’m glad it’s out in the world & hope it sparks some thoughtful conversations.
