Here's a short timelapse from last night at Jordan Lake, pointing my camera for an hour at the constellation Orion during the Geminids meteor shower! 15 second exposures every 20 seconds. You can see several meteors streak by and then two aircraft at the end.

I had a rather surreal moment late this afternoon. I was sitting at a lake reading, hoping to maybe see some birds, and I happened to pick up my camera to try to capture the neat-looking sky. Right as I picked up my camera, a bald eagle swooped down and grabbed a fish from the lake maybe 30 feet in front of me. Wish I had time to steady my hand and nail the focus but here's my best shot!

This afternoon I got a flu shot in one arm and covid vaccine in the other. On my way home the power steering went out on my car and I had to drive home (short distance) with unassisted steering. The timing was pretty funny and unfortunate. Thankfully driving without power steering in a Miata is not really a big deal! Unfortunately now I have to get that taken care of...
