While I agree with the @fsf warning about the emblematic value of the decision by to pull support for from , their article <https://u.fsf.org/3z8> is as empty as could be, especially considering that doesn't support JPEG XL either (being based on a branch that doesn't build support in.) You want to show that can do without? Do it by actually supporting what you complain Google is failing to.

@mondstern It's very easy to do so with the Vivaldi Themes editor, have added a help article to my reply that'll go over it.

Adding icons is also easy, though if you want to make them yourself that takes a bit of artistic skill. :tony_normal:

Welp, @Vivaldi Browser's new workspaces feature has officially failed me. I've had it retain workspace tabs in the past, but the latest macOS update and starting Vivaldi back up resulted in all workspaces being cleared of tabs.

Now to work on recovering my workspaces as close to their previous state as I can get so I can get back to work.

@bedast Hey, what version of macOS was it that seemed to trigger the issue? We are aware of users going through similar issues and are looking into it, so the info might be interesting.

@bedast Okay, cause we have as metioned gotten other similar reports. Will check if maybe they are on the same version.

People have reported that PWA windows may cause the image, and some other have reported extensions so we'd suggest trying to see if the issue persists in a fresh profile.

  • Friendica loads and freeze SO MUCH SLOW AND FREQUENTLY!

    • when I scroll or adding a new line in my posts it really freezes soo much!

Vivaldi isn't a bad browser: you have problems with it. Examples:

  • Twitter's Ads not blocked even after adding it to "Exceptions" list in settings, so I needed to install uBlock Origin.
  • I have @safing 's Portmaster installed, have set "Default Network Action" in settings to "Prompt" option which allows me to control the connections desktop app are connected to. Every time when I want to open ANY website in , Vivaldi asks a permission (actually not Vivaldi itself but it asks to 's which is displays me a notification for that) to connect to some, unknown for me, an IP address. Like, come on dude, I just want to open a website!........And when I block some connections I actually find it out that I blocked some needed for YouTube a video source website connection. And that sucks that I need to go and manually unblock that website.

Now, you might probably wondering: why is tf do I have those very strict settings in Portmaster for Vivaldi????? What stops/prevents me from allowing to have ALL of permissions for Vivaldi??????????

Well, it's because Vivaldi tracks my IP address and gives it to its servers in Iceland. I don't want my IP address to be sold to adversting companies, so if Vivaldi wouldn't do this, then I wouldn't need to have those strict settings in PortMaster for Vivaldi enabled.

Please, , fix that problem and do something.

You can find out more in our privacy policy, which we've linked her. The short of it is that nothing is being sold, the information is used to determine total number active users and geographical distribution, and IPs are anonymized.

I'm still trying to make Vivaldi good. I love the workspaces, and the ability to do groups inside of workspaces is awesome. But the damn browser will not remember the last session, no matter what I do. Which means all the workspaces are forgotten and all the tabs just end up in one workspace. It only happens when I'm signed in.

Have you tried deleting remote Sync Data and seeing if that solves the issue for you?

@Vivaldi Hrm. Apparently you updated your requirements for sync encryption passwords (to 12+ characters).

Not sure if this is related, but I got logged out with a “sync error”. Vivaldi then refused to decrypt with the old password. Instead I had to initialize a sync from afresh altogether with a new encryption password. There were no detailed error messages apart from the “sync error”.

I can’t say that I’m particularly impressed with this flow.
