Still can't sing in to my PlayStation account in any browser anywhere, at least my PS5 is still currently signed in. Have they been hacked, anyone else having issues trying to sign in to your account in a browser?

@jerry yeah it’s driving by me mad, never had the emails one though, I have 2fa on the account too and this is prior to my totp code entry. Thanks for checking though. I am just hoping that when they roll out passkeys this will help with the login situations.

A bit confused about how lists work on Mastodon. I would like to be able to add account to lists but not follow them, so they are not in my home time line but I can view the list to see them. Is this possible? I can do it in apps by hiding from home time line, but the website doesn't seem to have the option. Am I missing something or is this just not something that Mastodon natively supports?

Watched Your Name last night, it was stunning, such a well told emotional story. Made me realise I must of missed so much good Anime of the last decade or so since lost touch with following it. So any recommendations for films, too many TV shows to catch up on to start another right now. But 10/10 would recommend Your Name.

Anyone have instructions for getting nmap working from iSH on iOS/iPadOS, followed the instructions on their site and they are not working.

I sm still getting the following error after creating users and adding them to wheel:

route_dst_netlink: cannot create AF_NETLINK socket: Invalid argument

@shellsharks Well I believe I have it working for certain non root scans and scans that don’t use the NSE. So that’s something. There are dependencies missing for the NSE scans IO tried, so going to have a look at working on that during quite times tomorrow.

Adding a user for scanning to you can run them when not root user seems to work. I guess it has something to do with how root/wheel is implemented with iSH that is returning the socket error when run any scan as root.

Going to spend more time going through the Discord channel tomorrow too. I wish people still used forums rather than Discord.

Is it worth the extra cost to go for the 1TB iPad with the 16GB RAM over the 512GB with 8GB RAM? (I am not buying new but the difference in the used market is still considerable)

I will mostly be using for photo work, comic book reading and probably research when on the sofa. Basically getting it to replace my laptop which I hardly use. I don’t need it for real computer work got my desktop and home lab for that.

The extra storage is a real benefit to me, but finding it hard to justify the cost difference, if the RAM will help with photo work then it may swing it. I just don’t have much experience of iPads workloads and of that extra RAM would be of major benefit.

p.s. I am getting and iPad I don’t need another real computer. I am interested in experience around the extra ram in iPads and if it is worth it or not.

I continue to be squeezed by both sides of the threads situation. I am operating on the premise that people who think I’m a terrible person and this is a terrible instance for allowing any interaction with threads have left and/or blocked, those remaining seem to want to either have nothing to do with threads at all and are mainly concerned with their data, and those who want to seamlessly interact with threads. I have threads limited/silenced on Infosec.exchange, but that isn’t seamless, and it’s also not fully blocking. So, here’s my proposal:
I remove the limit from threads, and run a job to domain block threads for each account. Any account who chooses can undo the block (or ask me to do it) and then they can seamlessly interact with threads, and those who want nothing to do with them get their way.

@jerry Thanks for all the effort yo are putting into this. There is no option that is going to be satisfactory everyone. This decision sounds like an extreme one but one that would work for those that would like to be able to follow Threads accounts. Where they can unblock them themselves.

I just got a complaint about my posts, which I concluded came from a troll, but perhaps I’m actually coming off in a way that rubs people the wrong way here.

The complaint was that by posting high resolution images and describing in detail the processes used to create them, I’m merely “showing off” in a way that isn’t useful to most people.

I indeed do rather niche photography, using relatively esoteric gear. I think some people are interested in process and enjoy the results.

Been having internet issues all day, turns out it was DNS, Quad9 appear to in go slow at the moment. Any recommendations for privacy focussed upstream DNS providers, support for DNS over TLS and DNS over HTTPS a must.

What do you think Huyang's three part story about the history of the galaxy was referring to? the Original Trilogy, Prequel Trilogy and Sequel Trilogy? or some yet untold stories set long before the events seen in the movies?

@rm4 I think it was a nod to the Star Wars films, as a sort of fourth wall breaking joke. But within the canon of Star Wars lore they would be describing events prior to the prequel trilogy as he told them to Ahsoka when she was a younglin. I’m hoping Star Wars will commission some authors to produce books of the three stories.
