Every interaction I have with Apple's App Store division makes me feel like most of my effort has been wasted by an unnecessarily antagonistic process.

I was asked for promotional artwork (yay!) which was rejected because it "includes copy." It's sheet music. The occasional Italian word is to be expected—that's not "copy," it's musical notation.

Anyway, hours of work wasted. In the end I just re-submitted the crappy stock illustration I bought back in 2017, the last time they asked for art.

Us lucky boys had another opportunity to hang with @gairdeachas and @datasaurus today! We had a nice walk through Andreas Canyon under the palm trees, then lunch at Blackbook. They’re such lovely people and I eagerly await our next opportunity to get together.

Fun fact: being born on 03/03 really helped when we moved to the US, as I never had to get used to entering my date of birth differently on forms, since MM/DD and DD/MM are the same 🤓

Today @forscore arrives on its fourth platform: visionOS! Redesigning the sheet music reading experience for Vision Pro was a really fun challenge and I'm very proud of where things ended up.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped me beta test it—I think this is the start of something really special and I'm glad you could be a part of it.

I wish it was easier to take good (read: not tilted) screenshots of #visionOS apps running on actual hardware but alas, my head is wobbly.

Anyway, @forscore 14.2 will natively support visionOS and is coming soon! I don’t have press resources at the ready but if anyone is looking for apps to cover I’m happy to supply whatever you need.

It's been a VERY very busy week for me and while I still think I need to use @forscore on an actual device before I'd be comfortable releasing a version and committing to ongoing support, I am hoping to get a TestFlight build out tomorrow for anyone who wants to try it.

In the mean time, here's a short video from the simulator that shows the basic concept in action.

It’s the little things that make an indie app development career a joy. No manager will ever be there to give you a good performance review or to thank you for your hard work after a particularly tough day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t commemorate your successes in your own way.

This custom glass award I ordered for my new office just arrived and I love it, it’ll be the perfect accent for my visionOS demo room.

I didn’t enjoy waking up early to preorder the #visionPro but at least it was actually necessary since the ship date quickly slipped significantly.

Apple initially rejected my prescription since it’s more than a year old (they’re good for two years in WA) but Zeiss had no trouble with it when I uploaded an image later.

Now we wait to see what this thing can really do! I’m very excited to watch Dune in 3D.

I recently discovered that Jungle did a performance in the Paris Metro as part of France’s Arte Concert series and you can watch it (and a bunch of other amazing performances) for free on their website. You know, if you’re stuck inside today due to terribly cold weather.
