@blackspike what's the difference between this and ?
Or is it a rename?

I like the features list but the PWA uses unreadably small fonts on mobile and scrolling is super laggy.

I had a tiny bit of time to throw together some rough thoughts about and why, for me, it makes sense to use it over vim: https://zstix.io/posts/helix-replacing-vim/

@zstix I tried helix today and while I loved some stuff, there's a lot I missed from my setup.

I.might try to do some keymaps in neovim to make it emulate helix. Don't know how far I'd get with that but might be interesting to try!

Please indulge me for a moment while I extend some enthusiastic appreciation to @ryangorley and @freehive.

I worked with FreeHive for several months on the new @thunderbird home page (check it out at https://thunderbird.net), and the final result far exceeded my expectations.

This is why I'm going to work with them to redesign the entire site over the next several months.

Ryan, you and your team make look GREAT!

@killyourfm @ryangorley @freehive @thunderbird nice! Needs a bit of attention on mobile (Firefox, android) mind.

@msprout Me too, but it had to happen: no for-profit centralised system is a safe public forum.

I've been telling them there's bad stuff in there but so many of my clients have been like: "oh but we MUST use Twitter to get 'out there'."

Well now they're in their on their own with the nasties. I just hope they don't start emailing supporters saying "join twitter to keep up with us"...

Next up: LinkedIn, which seems to be having some odd rebirth of popularity; what next, myspace?!

Today I "converted" one of my clients from using Google Analytics to privacy-friendly Plausible.io, made by the excellent guys at @plausible.

It took me quite an effort to convince them to do that, but eventually I succeeded. I feel I've made the world a tiny little bit a better place.

If you still use Google Analytics for your own website, stop it right now and consider using a privacy-friendly alternative.

    @louis @plausible I'm worried about with plausible.

No way to get your data out of their saas product (so, basically, proprietary!), and new features now come with premiums.

Just implemented self hosted version and had long persuasion job with client(s?) to get them off GA but now having doubts.

Thinking of moving from to because I don't like stuff. Thinking of moving from to to access an always up-to-date (though this problem is mostly solved by sury packages, I'm wondering whether fedora's more incremental/rolling updates might work out less maintenance than debian's nothing nothing nothing big update pattern.)

    Advice or opinions welcome!

Is there a way in to do a presentation mode? e.g. hides all buttons, toolbars and other chrome etc. at once?

I'm thinking no but worth asking the mastodon masses.

@nicol Thanks, hadn't seen that, although was hoping to keep inkscape alive - helpful to be able to click, move things, press 3 to zoom to selection etc. And inkview hasn't been updated to understand inkscape multipage support. So at the mo I export to PDF and just use a pdf presenter.
